The challenge of developing coffee industry in Nicaragua
According to official sources, Nicaragua will convene an international research conference on the 18th to examine the various challenges faced by the country's coffee industry.
The local official media reported that this activity, named the first international competition of "the Challenge of the Coffee Industry," will invite experts from Brazil and Guardia to participate.
According to official statistics, Nicaragua exported 2.3 million kilograms of coffee in the last harvest year (October 1, 2014 to the end of September 2015) and imported US $414.3 million in foreign goods.
Official statistics also show that coffee is one of the three major export products of Nicaragua, and its main commodities are beef and gold.
The main export markets of Nicaraguan coffee include the United States, Venezuela, Belgium, Germany, Canada, Italy, Finland, Japan, Spain, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Norway, France and Australia.
