The aroma of coffee will float from the free trade zone to the whole world. how do you do that?
The coffee trading center of the Shanghai Free Trade Experimental Zone, which arises at the historic moment from Yunnan-Shanghai business cooperation, has been checked and accepted by the Municipal Commercial Commission, the Municipal Finance Office, the Free Trade pilot Zone Management Committee, and other units. In the near future, it will trade and display from offline to online to the whole world.
According to the plan, the coffee trading center of the Shanghai Free Trade Zone has five major sections: coffee electronic trading platform, Internet +, Zhongka.com trading platform, coffee innovation finance, and coffee creation base. It aims to become the largest coffee trading market in Asia within three years, and "finally master the pricing power of coffee in China."
In China, the output of coffee in Yunnan accounts for more than 95%. The special small-grain coffee in Yunnan has a long-lasting aroma and slightly sour fruit, which is one of the most popular high-quality coffee varieties in the world. According to the Jiefang Daily Shanghai observation reporter, since the signing of the Yunnan-Shanghai business cooperation contract for one year, the two sides have established an interconnection mechanism and each made use of existing resources and platforms to carry out in-depth cooperation to jointly create an innovative and integrated trading service platform for China's coffee industry. At present, Shanghai Free Trade Zone Coffee Trading Center Co., Ltd. has signed strategic cooperation agreements with Yunnan Coffee Factory and Bank of Shanghai to establish offline coffee experience centers such as Yangtze River Delta Coffee Industry Association, Universal Coffee experience Center and Yunpin Coffee Center.
The Universal Coffee experience Center integrates coffee spot display, trading, auction and training services. the pavilion covers an area of more than 1600 square meters and houses America Pavilion, Asia Pavilion, Africa Pavilion, China Pavilion and boutique cafes. Yunnan, as an important producing area of coffee, has become the only representative of the Chinese restaurant, stationed in the Universal Coffee experience Center. Through the monthly boutique display and the twice-yearly auction of fine coffee raw beans, we can promote the exchange and development of the coffee industry.
In 2015, the Shanghai Free Trade Zone Coffee Trading Center was established, which was interpreted by some in the industry as one of the signs that China's coffee market is "about to blow out". The two largest industries on earth are black liquids, the first is undrinkable oil, and the second is delicious and mellow coffee. Coffee ranks first among the three major drinks in the world. China, which has a strong "tea culture", currently consumes only 4 cups of coffee per capita in mainland China, even in several major cities in North, Shanghai and Guangzhou. The annual per capita coffee consumption is about 20 cups, which is a far cry from the annual per capita consumption of 200 cups in Japan and 140 cups in South Korea.
The gap means space for development. Statistics show that although the current base of China's coffee market is small, in many large and medium-sized cities in China, the number of coffee professional venues is growing at an annual rate of about 25%. By 2020, China's coffee market consumption is expected to reach trillions of yuan, and in the next 10 years, China will overtake the United States to become the world's largest coffee consumption market. The data provided by the Shanghai chain Management Association also confirmed this from the side. From January to April this year, the total sales of chain coffee shops among the members of the association has reached 1.411467 billion yuan, which is 1.91 times that of chain meals. The average monthly price of Shanghai coffee shop is 356800 yuan, and the average daily price is 11900 yuan.
Starbucks, the international coffee giant, has recently accelerated its development in China, providing strong evidence for this market trend: founder Howard said not long ago that Starbucks' market size in China is expected to surpass that of the United States to become the world's largest market in the future. He also disclosed that in the next five years, Starbucks plans to increase its investment in China. The number of new stores in China will reach 500 each year, and the total number of Starbucks stores in China is expected to reach 3400 in 2019.
