China's coffee market will reach 300 billion yuan in 2020

In recent years, more and more Chinese people have begun to taste Western drinks on the tip of the tongue, with coffee undoubtedly bearing the brunt.
Annual coffee production in China will double in the next five years and may increase again if demand is sufficient and prices allow farmers to profit, executives at Volcafe, the coffee division of ED&FMan, the UK commodities trader, said on November 10th.
"at this year's domestic coffee industry fair, only a small producer of boutique coffee beans in Yunnan had more than 500,000 orders in one day during the fair." An industry source told me that there are unlimited business opportunities in China's coffee consumption market, "but the main source of supply of high-grade coffee beans of origin is still in the international coffee exchange." Recently, the largest order for high-end coffee beans of origin on the New York Stock Exchange came from a well-known international ice cream giant, and the purpose of the purchase is to supply products in the Chinese market. " But for the author has been asking who the giant is, the person is smiling tight-lipped.
The author found that since 2008, international ice cream chains such as Haagen-Dazs, DQ, Italian bagel and American 31 have entered the Chinese market one after another, especially in the past two years, a number of world-famous ice cream brands have accelerated their layout in the Chinese market. Among them, Haagen-Dazs has always occupied the throne of the high-end ice cream market, while other brands occupy a position according to their own characteristics.
Judging from the furnishings of the store, only Haagen-Dazs has the advantage of selling a lot of coffee drinks: spacious store space, an atmosphere in which you can pass the time with a cup of coffee, and a good customer interaction experience, are all places that outperform other ice cream brands. Compared with other brands of fast food stores, Haagen-Dazs coffee inherits the atmosphere inherited from high-end ice cream shops.
From the product line, if it is only used to make ice cream products, it is impossible to need such a large supply of coffee beans, it can only be used to make coffee products. At present, only Haagen-Dazs is the first to launch a single coffee product, and has a rich product line, fully has the ability to further expand new products, what is missing is further investment promotion. And from the independent location of Haagen-Dazs stores, it has the appearance of chain coffee shops, DQ stores are mostly in the mall, lack of appearance advantage.
It can be inferred that only Haagen-Dazs is most likely to expand the coffee chain industry, selling ice cream while really getting a piece of the coffee chain market. However, it would not be surprising if Haagen-Dazs did so. In fact, not to mention traditional food companies such as McDonald's, KFC and 85C have crossed the border into the coffee industry; even individual non-traditional food companies have extended their tentacles to the coffee industry: online game company winger has opened the first "three Kingdoms"-themed coffee shop; TomsShoes, an American light shoe brand that promotes the concept of public welfare, has also announced a new company to enter the coffee industry.
Everything is because of China's promising coffee consumption market. Relevant industry data show that the space of China's coffee market will continue to expand. China's coffee market will enter a period of rapid growth in the next 10 years, and its consumption is expected to reach 300 billion yuan by 2020.
