Taiwan's Food and Drug Administration: caffeine should not exceed 300 mg a day
According to Taiwan's "Central News Agency," coffee products on the market in Taiwan are marked in red, yellow, and green according to their caffeine content. Taiwan's Food and Drug Administration points out that large cups of coffee marked in red are limited to one cup a day, otherwise they will consume too much caffeine.
The Food and Drug Administration of Taiwan's Ministry of Health and Welfare said that according to the assessment of the EU Food Science expert Committee, caffeine intake of less than 300 milligrams per day will not pose a threat to health.
Taiwan's Food and Drug Administration advises consumers to drink coffee drinks no more than one cup a day with a red mark or three cups a day with a green mark. People can use the information on the product label to measure their coffee consumption and their own health.
Before the restructuring into the Food and Drug Administration, the Food and Drug Administration of the Department of Health announced in 2007 that drinks containing coffee should be marked with caffeine content, and also instructed coffee brewers to mark it with red, yellow and green, with red representing more than 200 milligrams per cup, yellow 100 to 200 milligrams per cup, and green representing less than 100 milligrams.
