Some experts pointed out that the effect of the above measures is only short-term, and the government still needs to make greater efforts to change the structure of agricultural production. According to a report in Vietnam's "Investment News" on July 3, Nguyen Thi Hong, director of the Planning Department of Vietnam's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, pointed out that GDP in Vietnam's agriculture, forestry and aquatic products industry fell by 0.18% in the first half of the year, the first negative growth in many years. The main causes include drought, land salinization, dead fish in central China and unstable market demand. The only bright spot in agriculture in the first half of the year was exports of about US $15.04 billion, an increase of 5.4% over the same period last year, but there were still some problems.
