Nestl é Yunnan Coffee Project won the honor
The award, sponsored by the United Nations Development Programme, the International Chamber of Commerce and the International Business leaders Forum, aims to recognize the efforts of business organizations in helping people in developing countries and regions of the world improve their living conditions. A total of 11 award-winning projects were selected from 115 applications from 38 countries and regions. Nestle Yunnan Coffee Project is the only award-winning project in China. In 1988, Nestl é began to develop coffee projects in Simao and Jinghong, launched an agricultural technical assistance service project in 1992 to encourage and support local coffee cultivation, and opened a pilot demonstration farm with a total area of 60 hectares in 1997. Provide planting, quality control and processing technology training. Coffee cultivation has benefited more than 20,000 local farmers.
