Sony products in cafes plan to increase to 240 partner stores by the end of this year
According to a survey by GfK Japan, domestic sales of high-resolution audio devices in Japan increased by 50% in 2015 compared with the previous year, and the number of supported mobile phones increased by 2.4 times. The customer layer is also expanded from middle-aged male "music enthusiasts" to young people and women.
In response to the also expanding Chinese market, Sony set up vending machines in Shanghai's subway in 2015 and asked Yang Yang to endorse it. It is said that the 1.8-meter-high vending machine can achieve idol-computer interaction through face recognition.
However, from the actual response, "Sony Dafa" in the rapid movement of people in the subway station is quite difficult to do.
According to the 2015 results released in April, Sony turned a profit, but its revenue fell 1.3% from a year earlier. The gaming business remains Sony's main source of revenue, but the continued decline in mobile phones and computers still makes Sony's performance fall short of market expectations.
