Non-specialty coffee drinkers fell from 39 percent to 35 percent, the biggest factor contributing to the overall decline in daily coffee drinkers.

Specialty coffee includes espresso coffee and beverages made from specialty coffee beans of your choice.

The way Americans brew coffee has also changed, with 29 percent of respondents preparing coffee in a single-cup coffee machine, up from 20 percent last year, while the number of people using drip coffee machines has dropped from 58 percent to 53 percent.
