Fang Zhenglun, the Zou nationality of Alishan, known as the Prince of Coffee, was invited by the Mizuho Rural Government Office in Hualien to share the process of coffee cultivation and post-production. He said that he had walked the coffee road for 17 years, from not drinking coffee at all to winning the championship coffee and even achieving good results in international competitions. After a lot of exploration, he hoped to help coffee farmers select varieties suitable for local cultivation and bake coffee beans with Mizuho characteristics. And bring Taiwan coffee into the international market.

How did Fang Zhenglun, who did not even drink canned coffee, embark on the road to champion coffee? Fang Zhenglun said that his father planted more than 200 coffee seedlings in 1996 and began to bear fruit four years later, when he just left the army and returned to his hometown of Alishan. When his father asked him if he was interested in coffee, he was very confused, but when he tasted the sweetness of the coffee fruit, he gradually became interested in this magic bean.

Fang Zhenglun laughs that he started with "parody" of coffee, such as peeling coffee manually, peeling coffee beans by car, and stir-frying coffee with a grill. Later, because he wanted to learn more about coffee and the quality of his own coffee, through competitions and continuous research on planting, baking and other techniques, he not only won numerous awards at home, but also gained a reputation in the international community.

Fang Zhenglun said that after 17 years of exploration, after the August 8 storm in 2009, no one was interested in the new coffee shop on Alishan at all. not only did he not give up, "if the tourists didn't go up the mountain, I would take the coffee down the mountain." he went to markets in the north and other places to sell his own coffee, making Alishan coffee gradually known to people.

Fang Cheng-lun believes that only when everyone does a good job can Taiwan coffee enter the international market. therefore, he is invited to Mizui Township in Hualien for the first time. Hoping to help local coffee farmers find suitable coffee varieties to grow and how to bake coffee beans with their own characteristics is an important key to producing good coffee.
