On a hillside in Tongsheng City, Gunma Prefecture, Japan, a special coffee bean shop named HORIZON LABO opened quietly last month. Akira Iwano, a 15-year-old shopkeeper with Alzheimer's disease, concentrated on baking coffee beans and silently preparing delicious coffee for his guests. The pamphlet printed with the words "turn what I can do into something that only I can do" has not only moved the neighborhood to patronize, but also attracted reporters from many media to visit.

Akira Iwano suffers from Bulgaria's disease, a kind of autism, but with his natural and extremely keen sense of smell and taste, as well as his constant self-study efforts, he has moved two famous coffee roasters to teach their stunts. As soon as the shop opened, it became famous with its own brand of coffee beans, and recently became a local famous thing.

Due to the influence of the patient, Iwano has been unable to keep up with the progress of his homework at school, and his performance in sports is not satisfactory, which made him so distressed that he finally began to refuse to go to school a few months after he was promoted to junior high school. During his stay at home, his parents found that he was very sensitive to the aroma and taste of the food. even with the same seasoning, he could know the difference between the origin and was more interested in coffee, which made Yano regain his confidence and continue his studies.

In No.2 Iwano Middle School, an acquaintance gave away a second-hand coffee roaster, and he has since taught himself roasting skills. The story spread to the ears of Gugu Zhicheng, a famous coffee roaster in Tongsheng City, and he was so moved by his efforts that he decided to guide him personally and become the first master of Iwano. At this time, it happened that Dafang, a super coffee master in Tokyo, had a workshop at home, and Iwano wanted to attend it very much. Since then, he began to communicate with Dafang. With the blessing of Dafang, Iwano's coffee roasting technology has developed by leaps and bounds.

In the summer of the third year of junior high school, his parents took Iwano on a trip to Phuket, Thailand. He saw the broad horizon and felt that the size of the world could not stand still forever. His father, Kairen Iwano, knew that his son could not cope with his high school homework, so he encouraged him to open a shop in a vacant cabin nearby with the mentality of publicizing the results of coffee roasting research.

The decoration of the store was arranged by his father, a former architect, and Kumiko, her mother, who was a cloth dyer, brought in furniture to support her. The coffee beans sold in the store come from Guatemala and East Timor and are roasted by Iwano to become fresh coffee with different flavors, attracting customers from all over the world.

In order not to get too tired, the shop is only open from 11:00 to 7 pm every day from the 1st to 7th of each month, and only 500 packets of coffee beans are sold every day to maintain the standard. The latest development of Xiang is to study the mixing of coffee, black tea and scented tea into new drinks.

The beautifully decorated shop is the result of the cooperation between father and son. (Internet pictures)
