According to industry statistics, the total value of Honduran coffee exports this year reached 818 million US dollars, and it is estimated that in the 2016-2017 harvest year, which ends on September 31, the export volume will exceed 9 million kilograms.

According to a report released by the Honduran Coffee Association (Ihcafe), coffee exports have exceeded 5.6 million metric tons in the year to last week, an increase of 49 percent over the same period last year.

According to the report, the international average price of coffee has risen to US $145 per piculus so far this year, up 14 per cent from the average price of US $127per picul in 2015-2016.

On the other hand, the report also points out that the total amount of sale and purchase agreements signed for Honduran coffee exports this year has reached 7.6 million metric tons, compared with 5.7 million metric tons at this time last year.

This year, Germany, Belgium and the United States are still the main buyers of Honduran coffee, accounting for 70% of Acer's total exports.
