June 5, Chengdu Museum, "Imperial Summer Palace" cultural relics exhibition.

Following the special exhibition of Zhang Daqian, the special exhibition of Emperor Qianlong and the special exhibition of the Soul of Silk Road, the Chengdu Museum will plan the first exhibition imported from abroad on the occasion of its first anniversary. On June 11, the "Imperial Summer Palace-Cultural relics Collection Special Exhibition of the Russian Peterhoff National Museum" will be held in Chengbo. After the news was published by the West China Metropolis Daily, Chengdu citizens are looking forward to "going to Peter Summer Palace for summer vacation."

On the 5th, a reporter from the West China Metropolis Daily was invited to visit the camp in advance to witness the delivery process of Xiagong cultural relics. As it is a transnational exhibition and the security is very strict, reporters wearing official media work permits can only watch for a short period of five minutes from 10 meters away from the table, witnessing the appearance of cultural relics such as the statue of the queen on horseback, the gospels, the model ship of Peter I, and the statue of Crown Prince Alexei.

The security is extremely strict when opening the box.

On June 5, upon entering the first exhibition hall of Chengbo, the statue of Queen Alexandra Fyodorovna on horseback at the door shines with metallic luster in the clear showcase, where the staff are handing over the cultural relics. The cultural relics of Peter's Summer Palace, which arrived overnight in Chengdu, were unsealed and unpacked under the supervision of the Customs, and were handed over at the same time by the staff of the Russian Summer Palace, Chengbo, and the Cultural relics Transportation Company.

As it is a transnational exhibition, the cultural relics are highly insured and the security is very strict, so all journalists can only enter the exhibition hall with media work permits issued by the museum. In groups of three, they watch remotely outside the cordon about 10 meters from the point of delivery. After 5 minutes of appreciation, the show ended hastily and another wave of media entered the exhibition hall. The staff revealed that during the exhibition, only several limited business departments, such as the Collection Department and the display Design Department, could have access to the license, and even the employees of other departments of Chengbo had to wait until they had a glimpse of the Summer Palace on the day of the exhibition.

I can only see that both Chinese and Russian staff communicate quietly in English, and there are almost no obstacles to communication. The whole process of handing over the cultural relics is rigorous and careful, and every exquisite cultural relic is taken out of the wooden box and placed on the table, which can cause a burst of exclamation. There is a set of standardized procedures for reading the list of cultural relics, taking out cultural relics, checking feature descriptions, and checking them one by one. Any damage, scratches, restoration marks, color painting, etc., must be recorded and signed by both parties, and finally become evidence of the "complete return of cultural relics".

The construction of the exhibition hall has entered the final stage, and most of the exhibition cabinets tailor-made for these cultural relics are empty, waiting for the cultural relics to be handed in. The magnificent fountain waterfall, garden green space and study dormitory of Peter Summer Palace are all turned into giant inkjet paintings behind the showcase, truly restoring the glory of the Russian royal palace.

The coffee pot is very much like hot pot

Interestingly, two staff members wearing white gloves carried out a shining metal object shaped like a Chinese copper hot pot, with a cylindrical body that seemed to hold the soup Mongolian Hot Pot. Since we did not see the list of exhibits, the name and use of this object made people wonder, "did ancient Russians also eat hot pot?"
