21 baristas compete for tickets to the national competition

Dongguan time Network News yesterday, the South China Division Competition of China Barista skills Competition opened in Guangdong Vocational College of Innovation and Technology. The competition is hosted by coffee bean branch of China Fruit Circulation Association and coffee industry association of Dongguan City. There are four sub-zones and one finals in this competition. The competition zones are located in Suzhou, Jiangsu, Dongguan, Guangdong, Chengdu, Sichuan and Dalian, Liaoning. The Dongguan Division held yesterday is the second Division competition. The finals will be held at the 2017 China Food and Beverage Expo sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce.

The reporter learned that a total of 21 contestants in the South China Division were qualified to participate in the competition. Twenty-one contestants will finish the competition in two days. In the competition, each contestant needs to complete the on-site production of 4 cups of hand-brewed coffee, 4 cups of cappuccino coffee and 4 cups of creative drinks within 20 minutes. The first contestant will also get a coffee machine worth 8800 yuan.

The top three contestants of the South China Division will represent the South China Division to participate in the finals in Changsha.

"this competition is the highest-standard national event in the coffee industry, attracting the top contestants in the Dongguan coffee industry. All the contestants who want to participate in the competition have to be examined by experts, and their own level is relatively high." Fu Jingya, secretary general of the China Coffee Bean Branch, said that baristas get good results in the competition and can also get professional certificates to help them broaden their employment opportunities. In the future, they can not only become baristas, but also engage in coffee trainers, start their own businesses and other professions.
