It can be said that it is the darling of today's coffee industry. At the Dublin World Coffee Competition 2016, two-thirds of the contestants chose Rose Summer Coffee.
If you don't know it yet, follow us today to get to know the charms of Rose Summer.

Origin of Geisha Coffee
Geisha originated from Geisha Mountain in southwest Ethiopia and has become synonymous with a coffee variety as it has been planted all over the world in recent years. Domestic people will be transliterated as "Guixia." Because of its pronunciation and Japanese geisha the same, it is also known as geisha coffee in Japan.
Spread of GeiSha
Rose summer coffee into people's sight, experienced a very tortuous process.
In 1931 rose was discovered on Mount Rose in southwest Ethiopia and collected for trial cultivation at the Kenya Coffee Research Institute.

The Guixia Mountains in Southwest Ethiopia
In 1936, five years after planting the species, researchers selected ripe fruits and spread them to Uganda and Tanzania. In 1953, Costa Rica's agricultural agency CATI introduced summer coffee to Central America by obtaining seeds from Tanzania. By 1963, Pachi Serracin, owner of Panamanian Don Paki Estate, had introduced Rosedale coffee from Costa Rica to Panama.
However, due to its low yield and poor economic benefits, it was rarely used alone. Over time, as geisha grows in panama, it adapts to the soil and climate, producing coffee fruits with subtle changes and flavors.

Not many people paid much attention to the summer until one day, Panama's Esmeralda estate separated it from other varieties and won the national coffee competition in one fell swoop. This estate is known as Panama Geisha Hacienda La Esmeralda.
Expensive rose summer coffee.
Rose Summer Coffee won the Panama National Bean Cup in 2005, 2006 and 2007, and won the 2007 International Famous Bean Cup sponsored by the American Fine Coffee Association (SCAA). The bidding price was 130 US dollars per pound, setting a record for the highest price in the history of competition beans. It is reported that later Panama national treasure bean competition activities will be divided into two groups of rose summer and non-rose summer to avoid interfering with the selection and promotion of other varieties.
In 2013, BOP (Best of Panama) washed rose summer group highest standard gold more than 160 US dollars/pound, and the sun rose summer group highest standard gold by Hacienda La Esmeralda a sun rose summer to 350 US dollars/pound won the first place, converted into RMB is about 5000 yuan per kilogram, so far this record has not been broken.

In addition to high altitude and limited yield, rose summer coffee is expensive because it is difficult to plant. Compared with other varieties, leaf photosynthesis is weak, root system is underdeveloped, and its ability to absorb water and nutrients is weak. One plant, geisha, produces only half as many beans as kaduai, which may explain its distinctive flavor. In general, less coffee yields better flavor.
Red label, green label, blue label, rose summer difference
Panama Geisha Hacienda La Esmeralda's Rose Summer is the best in fine coffee, commonly known as "Red Label Rose Summer," and has won 12 coffee competitions so far.
In addition to the red label Rose Summer, Emerald Manor also has "green label" and "blue label". The difference between them is:
ESMERALDA SPECIAL [red label], selected above 1550 meters above sea level;
Boquete Geisha [green label], selected 1500 meters above sea level;
(ESMERALDA 1500)[Blue Label], selected at an altitude of about 1500.
The red label geisha participates in the global auction in may each year. The green label does not participate in the bidding, but it is also of high quality and slightly cheaper. Buyers who buy the red label can buy the green label first.

... the alluring flavours of Rose Summer Coffee.
If you drink Rosedale coffee for the first time, you may be surprised that it doesn't taste like coffee at all, more like a sour and sweet fruit tea. Rich floral, oolong tea, peach and honey aroma, fresh and comfortable, bright and balanced, aroma layers are very strong, the whole aroma and caramel sweet feeling wrapped together, the tongue feel acid obvious, in the mouth is mild and round, fruit sweetness and sweetness strong, cup test will also have bergamot aftertaste, the lower the temperature, the more delicate the acid.
