Lai Yuquan's life was not plain sailing. In the year when the university list was released, he was the only one in the class who failed.
Then he went back to Yunlin and became familiar with coffee after working part-time and studying in a coffee shop in Gukeng when he was in college. When he graduated at the age of 22, because of the boss's appreciation and trust, he took on the responsibility of the store manager, and at this time he could see Lai Yuquan's persistence and efforts for what he loved.

He accidentally drank coffee master George. The coffee beans baked by George Howell had a great impact in his coffee world and decided to fly to the United States for a pilgrimage visit and took great pains to meet the master himself. Lai Yuquan, who was unknown at that time, modestly said that he was not a coffee industry, but a coffee fan. However, George, the master of coffee, never expected that he would take him for a cup test.
After a round of cup testing, George was surprised that Lai Yuquan did not have any cup test experience, and the result of the cup test was "the same as his." This made Lai Yuquan find that he had a keen sense of smell and taste, which allowed him to have a perfect interpretation of the coffee flavor, which made him more determined to continue to develop towards the coffee industry.

In 2013, he first challenged the WCE World Cup baked beans, but only failed to achieve the expected results in the Taiwan Division. Relying on perseverance, enthusiasm and unremitting efforts, Lai Yuquan regards failure as a nutrient. He challenged again the next year (2014), and after a long period of hard training, he advanced to Italy, where the Bean Baking World Championship was held that year, breaking the record that had always been dominated by Europe and the United States, and became the first Taiwanese to win the championship in this international event.
