According to the Nicaraguan Export Trading Center (Cetrex), in the current harvest year (October 1, 2016 to September 30, 2017), Nepalese coffee exports exceeded 2.8 million metric tons by the end of August, an increase of 18.6% over the same period last year.

Cetrex pointed out that during the 11-month period, Nicaraguan coffee exports earned the country a total of US $465.5 million in foreign exchange, with a growth rate of 21.8% compared with the same period last year.

According to Cetrex analysis, the huge growth in Nicaraguan coffee exports this harvest year is mainly due to the fact that the international price of coffee is better than in the past. this year, the average price of coffee reached US $158.9 per piculs, compared with US $156.7 per piculs in the same period last year.
