Canada approves a mannanase for instant coffee

Previously, Canada has approved hemicellulase from Bacillus amyloliquefaciens and Bacillus subtilis for the production of instant coffee. The approved mannanase comes from Aspergillus Niger AE-HCM.

After a risk assessment, Health Canada concluded that there was no safety risk when the mannanase was used, so the list of approved food enzymes was updated to approve its use in instant coffee.
