Zeng Ningchun, director of the Taiwan Fine Coffee Association, said that the "World Cup siphon Coffee Competition" held in Japan for many years was first moved to Seoul in 2016 and won to be hosted in Taiwan by the Taiwan Fine Coffee Association in 2017. Chou Sheng-lung, honorary director of the Taiwan Fine Coffee Association, said that the amount of coffee imported by Taiwan has tripled in 10 years, which shows that the potential of Taiwan's coffee market is endless. Takuo Ujima, special director of the Japan Fine Coffee Association, also looks forward to promoting exchanges among Taiwan's coffee industry through this competition. This is Taiwan's first major international coffee event. Apart from increasing Kaohsiung's visibility in the international coffee industry, it also hopes to help Taiwan's upstream, middle and downstream coffee industry to open up the international market.
The 2017 World Cup siphon Coffee Competition will be held on October 28. Miss Yang Yishan, a representative from Taiwan, will compete against coffee players from Japan, South Korea, Macau, Malaysia, China and Hong Kong. Contestants must make 3 designated mixed coffees and 3 creative coffees within 15 minutes, and accurately control variables such as brewing time, temperature and firepower, which make the competition more difficult and more exciting. Yang Yishan, director of COFFEE LOVER's PLANET, won the Taiwan trials in 2011, 2013 and 2014 respectively, and achieved good results in many World Cups. She stood out from 22 players in the Taiwan trials held in Taichung in July this year.
The World Cup siphon Coffee Competition is an annual coffee competition launched by the Japan Fine Coffee Association (SCAJ) to promote and promote fine coffee made from siphon coffee pots. The internationally certified judges will evaluate the coffee made by the siphon coffee pot, including the coffee flavor, as well as the evaluation of everything from making to serving the coffee, such as appropriateness, accuracy and consistency, the contestants must make 3 cups of "mixed coffee" brewed with mixed coffee beans and 3 cups of "creative coffee" created by the contestants within 15 minutes. The coffee brewing equipment specified in the competition is two three-seat siphon coffee stoves. Contestants must complete six cups of coffee of stable quality under time pressure, and accurately control variables such as brewing time, temperature and firepower. At the same time, the flavor and characteristics of coffee must be explained in English, which make the competition more difficult and more exciting.
Shi Yuxia, deputy director of the Exhibition Operations Office of the Foreign Trade Association, said that the Kaohsiung International Food Fair has entered the 11th, combining the Kaohsiung International Hotel, Catering and Baking equipment Exhibition and the first Kaohsiung International halal products Exhibition for the first time.
