Rocket Coffee launches two high-end concepts of Portavia and R9

Rock musicians on tour should not leave their amplifiers at home because they are heavy. Nor is there a passionate pitcher traveling with plastic bowling.

Espresso maker Rocket Espresso last month launched the Portavia, a full-function espresso machine pump with a 58mm E61 head with traditional lever start, drip tray, Ulka vibrating, pressure gauge and the ability to brew and steam at the same time, all built directly into a hard-shell suitcase with a handle at the top.

As "the world's first truly portable espresso machine", Portavia made its debut at the home of the Rockets in Milan, Italy, this fall.

Rocket Portavia has a built-in suitcase.

Weighing up to 21 kilograms (more than 46 pounds), this huge set includes a pair of foam-filled ceramic cups and plates, as well as a tampered, professional-grade portafilter and an external reservoir. Taking advantage of the temperature stability of the thermosyphon system, the Portavia includes a 500-centiliter coffee boiler and 800-centiliter steam capacity to pump water down from the cylindrical reservoir at the top of the machine located by the user.

According to the company, a rotating steam arm is used for milk, and the machine is heated and ready in about 10 minutes. Andrew Meo, owner of Rocket Coffee, told Daily Coffee News that even if the machine was still warm, it could still be safely packaged and taken away immediately.

The Portavia includes accessories built into the case of foam filling.

In addition to its weight, it is its energy requirement to bring the machine back from something truly free and unpatterned. It needs to be plugged in, and both 110V and 240V versions will be available. Meo said that although the pricing has not yet been set, the retail price is expected to be around $2750 from February 2018.

HOST,Rocket has also entered the field of consumer stress analysis in the R9 series, with a single version of the prototype.

The new high-end machine uses a dual PID-controlled stainless steel boiler-four liters of steam, two liters of beer-and a saturated head. The pressure curve analysis is realized by the horizontal rotation actuator at the top of the operation group, which controls the potentiometer running the pump, while the touch screen interface displays the curve in real time. Manual configuration files can be saved and loaded for automatic control of subsequent shots.

The magnetic rotary pump absorbs water from the ship's water reservoir or direct water connection. "We think this is a market for high-end consumers, or potential business applications, such as small restaurants or design studios," Meo said. He added that the machine was "ideal for a top espresso program" with a "low volume".

The R9 is scheduled to start shipping in March 2018 and is expected to retail for between $5500 and $6000.
