From February 22 to the end of the harvest, the quality Inspection Department of Yunnan International Coffee Trading Center tested the water content, defects and particle size of raw coffee beans strictly according to the participating bean standards. At present, 123 participating beans have been put into storage, with a total quantity of 43.65 tons. 123 raw coffee beans come from Yunnan Pu'er, Xishuangbanna, Lincang, Wenshan and Baoshan, and have different processing methods: washing, honey treatment and sun drying, which fully reflect the diversification of coffee in Yunnan. Through the competition to test the production capacity and product consistency of Yunnan coffee farms, it can also fully meet the market demand, but also shows the trust of farmers and enterprises in Yunnan International Coffee Trading Center and their firm support for Yunnan boutique coffee plan.

The referee of the competition was Mr. Ted Ringer, former chairman of SCAA, founder of CQI and senior consultant of Yunnan International Coffee Trading Center, and the primary judge was Mr. Chen Jiajun, the first Chinese Q Grader mentor. Since the preliminary judges were openly recruited, the Raw Bean Competition has received extensive attention and strong support from the coffee industry. A total of 92 Q Grader applications have been received from all over the world, including Yunnan, Shanghai, Hefei, Beijing, Xinjiang, Chongqing, Taiwan, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Guangdong, Qinghai, Liaoning, Anhui, Hunan, Guizhou, Zhejiang, Fujian, Henan. From the registration of the judges, we can see that the industry pays more attention to Yunnan Coffee and Yunnan Coffee Raw Bean Competition every year. The selection of the judges of this year's preliminary competition is also different from that of the past. The selection of this year's judges has cancelled the part of the assessment. As long as all the people who have signed up for the preliminary competition meet the registration requirements, they can become the judges of the preliminary contest of the competition. This is a breakthrough and innovation in the selection mechanism of the judges of the Yunnan Coffee and Raw Bean contest. The final judges were invited by CQI to Q Grader around the world, inviting 24 international judges from China, the United States, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia and other countries to comment on the semi-finals and finals. There are more than 100 judges in the preliminary and final competitions, which can be said to be "hundreds of Q gathered together in Pu'er to find good coffee in Yunnan". The judges will rate the coffee in the form of a cup test, including dry and wet aroma, flavor, aftertaste, acidity, mellow thickness, consistency, sense of balance, cleanliness, sweetness, and comprehensive scores, each of which is strictly based on SCA criteria.

Yunnan Province is the largest coffee producing area in the country, accounting for more than 95% of China's coffee production. The purpose of the raw bean competition held by Yunnan International Coffee Trading Center is to excavate the "best coffee in Yunnan" through the evaluation of professional judges. At present, more and more coffee people in Yunnan have begun to pay attention to coffee quality. the raw bean competition has not only enhanced the confidence of Yunnan coffee people, but also more and more coffee people have participated in the competition. Judges from different regions will be able to experience the flavor characteristics of coffee from different producing areas in Yunnan, and through word of mouth, more people at home and abroad can understand, understand and accept Yunnan coffee, effectively promote the healthy development of Yunnan coffee industry, and comprehensively enhance the international reputation of Yunnan coffee.
