The so-called acid bleaching mainly uses hydrogen peroxide (hydrogen peroxide) for bleaching, while enzyme bleaching uses biological enzymes for bleaching.

Both bleaching methods have little impact on human health and can be said to be quite safe bleaching methods.

At present, larger brands such as HARIO, KALITA, KONO, Sanyo … And so on, are either acid bleaching or enzyme bleaching. Or both bleaching methods are available, marked on the outer packaging of filter paper for consumers to choose from.

It can be seen that there are basically no health concerns about buying large brands of bleached filter paper, but if you want to buy cheaper filter paper, it is recommended that you at least know how to bleach it. As long as the filter paper is made of pulp, if it is not bleached, it must have more or less pulp smell, and the filter paper must be washed with water to remove the paper odor. however, for some thicker unbleached filter paper, it takes a lot of water to wash the paper smell clean. It is quite unenvironmentally friendly and annoys people to wash filter paper, which is quite unreasonable. What's more, how to wash some filter paper, there will be paper flavor residue, resulting in more coffee flavor, which makes people feel collapsed. After all, it takes so much money to buy good beans and so much time to learn how to brew your hands well. As a result, there is an extra smell of paper floating in the coffee, which directly destroys your perfect hand.

So bleached filter paper is more recommended.

On the one hand, big brands of bleached filter paper do not have health concerns, so it would be a bit too worried to insist on using unbleached filter paper for unfounded health problems.

Second, bleaching filter paper can basically avoid the problem of paper flavor polluting coffee flavor. This is not an unprovoked rumor. You can't deceive yourself until you drink.
