The differences between the versions of King Mehdi Mill ek43:

Ek43s: new version, short version. Grinding scale 1-16, scale infinitely adjusted.

Ek43t: high edition. Grinding scale 1-11, scale infinitely adjusted.

Ek43: high edition. Grinding scale 1-11.

Ekk43: double head, high edition. Grinding scale 1-11.

Today's protagonist is the Mahlkonig coffee grinder, which is a bean grinder that we often see when we visit the store. if you see this bean grinder, you can almost judge that this boss is not short of money, .

These days, hot mom is Italian standard, EK43 is the town shop single product grinding, the frequency of EK has reached the level of arcade, worthy of a generation of machine god (however, our store still did not buy, )

According to the official rules of the 2018 World Barista Competition, contestants can choose the Peak, EK43 and EK43 (S) models of the bean grinder sponsor Mahlkonig.

EK43 bean grinder dates back to January 2009 in Montreal, Canada.

As pioneers in the boutique coffee industry, Scott Rao and Anthony Benda, owners of Caf é Myriade, one of the most famous local cafes, were among the first baristas to use the VST filter bowl and calculate the espresso output ratio. They found that coffee ground by an EK43 bean grinder tastes better and produces more coffee. So they decided that the EK43 bean grinder helps to improve the quality of coffee.

Many players love to use the EK43 bean grinder, but all this has changed in the hands of the 2013 World Barista Competition champion Matt Perger, and the market worshiped EK43 because the Australian Matt Perger won the 2012 World Handbrew Coffee Championship (World Brewers Cup) and the 2013 World Barista Competition (World Barista Championship) runner-up with the bean grinder.

At that time, he used EK43 to prepare coffee on the main stage, and although Perger was not the first barista to use EK to grind espresso, he was undoubtedly the barista who popularized EK.

What's the difference between ditting and ek43? They are all trench mills. Needless to say, most of them have different flavors. The main difference in design is that the horizontal cutterhead and the ek43 are vertical cutterheads. Although you can shake the powder, ek43 is better in this respect. At present, there are two types of cutterheads in the EK43 on the market, one is the ordinary version of the cutter head (grinding single product), the other is the Turkish version (grinding Italian type).

The following picture shows the cutter head of K30.

Mahlkonig-Ek43/EKK43 uses 98mm steel alloy flat cutter head, using Ek43/EKK43 coffee shows significantly better Body (body fat feeling), thick and soft, the wrapping feeling on the tongue surface is very comfortable, EKK43 grinding particles are mostly spheres and cubes, cross-sectional circles are more common, and particle consistency is better.

EK was originally designed to grind leaky coffee by hand, but its advantages outweigh the inherent disadvantages of unstable powder supply (for example, 20g of coffee beans with an error of 1-1.5g of powder).

The data show that the EK43 grinding particles are not only the smallest, but also the most uniform, which means that the extraction of coffee is more uniform, the degree of extraction tends to be perfect, and there will be no over-extraction. General grinding will compromise because of the polarization of particle size, although there is a fine error of less than 100 microns, but the error of particle size is usually in the range of 200-1000 microns. However, when using EK, the error of particle size is obviously smaller than that of other bean grinders.

Matt Perger has tested a total of four bean grinders, namely: Mazzer Robur, Mahlkonig K30, Anfim Super Caimano and Mahlkonig EK43;Robur grinders produce the least amount of very fine coffee powder. The extraction of coffee ground by Robur bean grinder is usually very inadequate, and the coffee output ratio is difficult to reach more than 19%. The particle size of the EK43 bean mill is 295um, which is the smallest of the four bean grinders.

The data show that EK43 grinding particles are not only the smallest, but also the most uniform, which means that the extraction of coffee is more uniform and the degree of extraction tends to be perfect, and there is no over-extraction. EK43 grinds the largest amount of ultra-fine coffee powder. Matt Perger believes that there are two reasons for this phenomenon:

First, EK43 cuts coffee beans much more times than other bean grinders, so the particle size of coffee powder is the smallest of the four bean grinders, and the amount of very fine coffee powder is bound to be more than other bean grinders. Under the condition that the same amount of coffee is ground and the grinding degree is much finer than other bean grinders, the coffee powder of 0-90 microns of the EK43 bean grinder is only 3% more than the Robur with the least amount of very fine coffee powder. It can be seen that the working efficiency and grinding quality of EK43 are much higher than those of other bean grinders.

Second, most of the coffee powder particles polished by EK43 are very similar to those of very fine coffee powder, and the numerical difference is the smallest among the four bean grinders, which is one of the important reasons for the better quality of EK43.

Of course, appearance and forced style are important, who knows the most expensive. What about...
