According to an article published by the South American Overseas Chinese News Network, on December 6, local time, accompanied by indigenous songs and dances, the "Coffee Tour" tourism project jointly launched by the Panamanian public and private sectors was officially put into operation in Chiriqui Province, Panama.
The launch of the Coffee Tour took place at Boquete, the starting point of the tour route, at a local tourist facility centre. The director of Panama Tourism said at the ceremony that as Panama's latest tourism product,"Coffee Tour" is positioned as a "quality destination brand" and its goal is to develop the tourism value contained in the coffee industry in Chiriqui Province.

The "Coffee Tour" project involves 18 coffee estates located in Bocte, Tierras Altas and Renacimiento in Chiriquí, which have been evaluated by Panama's tourism authorities. Visitors who sign up for the program can go deep into coffee plantations, learn about Panama's coffee history, learn to identify coffee types, experience the work of Chiriki coffee farmers, and taste locally produced rose coffee.
Coffee grower representatives say the Coffee Tour will show the world the excellent quality of Panamanian coffee. The opening of the tourism project is not only a historical milestone, but also brings many challenges for them.
The Director of Panama Tourism explained that the reason for the introduction of the "Coffee Tour" was to diversify the tourism programme in Chiriquí Province. In addition to coffee as a core attraction, they have added many fascinating complementary elements such as food, adventure and Aboriginal culture to the design of the tour.
