[CNMO News] Briggo has created a fully automated robotic coffee machine that can make 100 cups of coffee in an hour, equivalent to the output of three or four baristas. The robot can mix Latin American coffee beans, make delicious coffee according to the app's order, and allow customers to control ingredients, espresso, seasonings and temperature without any human intervention.

Uninterrupted coffee is one of the company's main selling points, says Briggo. No one means there are no human errors, such as misspelled names. All eight machines are now owned by the company, but they have recently begun to offer franchise business models to potential operators.

Kevin Nater, president and chief executive of Briggo, said the machine would flourish in places where convenience is highly valued, such as airports and office buildings, where several of the company's machines are currently operating.

Briggo is not the only automatic cafe, and when it launches its latest machine at San Francisco International Airport in May, it will compete head-on with Cafe X, an automated coffee bar from San Francisco. Cafe X uses assembly line machines and promises to provide "robotic precision" coffee.

At present, supermarkets and convenience stores find that all kinds of ready-to-drink coffee are very popular. Nater says his machine can make coffee at least as good as human baristas, and that robots are "high-speed, fully controllable food factories". Unlike humans, machines do not panic when they are busy, and through analysis, he can ensure that robots meet "all the quality requirements".

However, a 24-year-old barista remains skeptical, saying that coffee is made by baristas and that delicate taste tests and a clever balance between water and grinding are a key part of the process.

Asked how Briggo would affect employment, Nater said it was difficult for food service companies to retain staff and was often understaffed, especially at airports with high turnover. "We don't think we're going to replace people," he said. "We're creating a high-tech retail and marketing business and creating jobs in the process."
