In early 2000, Blue bottle Coffee opened its first store in Oakland and quickly became popular in many cities around San Francisco Bay, and its "road to online celebrity" officially began in San Francisco.

The US-based blue bottle coffee Blue Bottle Coffee, which is influenced by Japan, will open its first cafe in South Korea on May 3, marking a new phase of growth for the company in Asia.

Blue Bottle's approximately 4300 square meter headquarters in Seoul will also include a baking and training laboratory, which will be open for public visits, classes and tastings.

South Korea is the company's second international market, and the company opened its first Tokyo Cafe in 2015, inspired by the traditional Japanese hospitality-, a Japanese cafe that offers drip coffee culture.

"every time we visit Korea, we are honored by our passion and love for the brand," said Bryan Meehan, CEO of Blue Bottle Coffee Blue bottle Coffee.

The industrial red brick building that Blue Bottle Korea will call home is located in the Seongsu neighborhood, often referred to as Seoul's "Brooklyn".

The space, designed by Schemata Architects's Jo Nagasaka, shows Blue Bottle's iconic minimalism with an emphasis on natural light and warmth. The building has an open atrium with glass that separates the first floor from the second floor and provides a transparent view from the street to the restaurant in Blue Bottle. Guests will go down the stairs to the underground coffee shop, and the classic walnut tables and chairs provide a comfortable place to rest.

In addition to a selection of mixed and single-source drip coffee, iced coffee and espresso beverages, Blue Bottle Korea will also provide local pastry chef Maison Mitchell 39 with specially designed pastries for the company.

Blue Bottle Blue bottle Coffee will open a second cafe in Seoul later in the second quarter and plans to open more cafes by the end of 2019.
