Geisha, also known as rose summer coffee, is one of the Arabica species. It is derived from Geisha Mountain in Ethiopia, and is named after it because it sounds the same as Japanese geisha. In recent years, major competitions have designated the use of geisha species, but also the winners of major competitions, many producing areas have introduced this species to develop cultivation, such as Panama, Costa Rica, Colombia and so on.
The coffee tree is a wild variety originating from Ethiopia's Geisha Mountain, so it is named Geisha, because it sounds similar to the Japanese word "Guixia", so it is translated as Guixia coffee, and some people translate it as Guixia coffee.
It was discovered in 1931, came to Costa Rica in 1953, and then spread to Panama. The yield of summer coffee trees was not high. It was originally not valued by coffee farmers. However, after the third wave of coffee, coffee lovers increasingly pursued coffee with unique flavor, which made coffee farmers pay more attention to coffee varieties from the original yield to quality and flavor. Panama Emerald Estate discovered this coffee variety with low yield. However, it has a unique floral and citrus gorgeous aroma, so I took this coffee bean to participate in the 2004 cup test competition, and won many championships, and then often appeared in various coffee competitions and ranked first, of course, the price is also high.
Why is summer coffee sour?
As mentioned earlier, rose summer coffee is characterized by its unique floral and citrus aromas, so front street coffee usually roasts it to a light roast. Because this way can retain its rich floral fragrance, highlighting the characteristics of this variety
