Geisha, also known as rose summer coffee, is one of the Arabica species. It is derived from Geisha Mountain in Ethiopia, and is named after it because it sounds the same as Japanese geisha. The coffee tree is a wild variety originating from Ethiopia's Geisha Mountain, so it is named Geisha, because it sounds similar to the Japanese word "Guixia", so it is translated as Guixia coffee, and some people translate it as Guixia coffee.

It was discovered in 1931, came to Costa Rica in 1953, and then spread to Panama. The yield of summer coffee trees was not high. It was originally not valued by coffee farmers.
