After taking part in the 2004 Panamanian coffee cup test competition and becoming a hit, he won the Panama coffee cup test competition for many years.
Rudolph A.Peterson, a Swedish-American financier, retired in 1964, moved to Panama and bought Bouquete's emerald estate to focus on dairy. A former president of Bank of America and a big shot in financial circles at the time, Rudolph bought Hacienda La Esmeralda only for vacation and later retirement, and it should not have been expected that the estate would become world-famous and even become a representative of the Panamanian boutique coffee estate.
In 1973, his son Price Peterson earned a doctorate in neurochemistry in the United States, but returned to Bouquete to help his father run the farm. After taking over, Price divides the market into three major brands to sell according to altitude and micro-climate, cup performance and planting varieties (Esmeralda Special,Diamond Mountain grows,Palmyra). Since 2012, Rosa (Geisha / Geisha) has become one of the four major brands.
[Emerald Manor] consists of four farms: Ca ñ as Verdes, El Velo, Jaramillo and Palmira. All coffee beans are sent to four farms for post-processing. The first farm bought by the Peterson family, the owner, was Palmira.
Our new 2019 production season Sunshine [Jadeite Manor Red Mark] comes from Ca ñ as Verdes Farm, which has the reputation of "King Land". Ca ñ as Verdes Farm is one of the plots included in the Peterson family's initial purchase of the Jade Manor.
Ca ñ as Verdes Farm is located on the hillside of the majestic Volc á n Baru, where there is an obvious dry season of three to four months a year, but even so, the air is still very cool and suitable for the growth of coffee beans.
In fact, Ca ñ as Verdes farm started as a place specializing in raising and producing beef. Although dairy products were later produced, they began to grow coffee because of inconvenient transportation and sparsely populated areas.
After 2004, the Peterson family also began to buy small plots of land around the former Cannes to grow coffee.
The Ca ñ as Verdes farm has nine small plots, namely: Lino (flax), Coronado (coronation), Fundador (founder), Le ó n (Leon), Monta ñ a (mountain peak), Trapiche (sugar), Chinta (urn), Caba ñ a (wooden cabin) and Tumaco (Tumako), all above 1650m above sea level.
Among them, the Monta ñ a plot fetched a high price of US $601 / lb in the 2017 BOP Sunshine Rose Group, breaking the highest auction price.

The special auction of Grand Reserve Geisha at Esmeralda represents the pinnacle of Geisha coffee quality. Every year, the best beans are selected from the rose summer Geishas miniature plots planted on the estate to participate in carefully separated and processed to create this unique auction, which includes sun-dried and washed coffee with flavors including jasmine, fruit and bergamot, and the red label lots are sold only through a special auction at the Jadeite Manor (Esmeralda).

After years of experiments, the Emerald Manor has found that only the roses collected by coffee trees growing above 1400 meters above sea level can show the special flavor of roses.
