Development and Evolution of KONO

In 1925, KONO developed the first siphon pot for coffee.

In 1948, it was named "Kono coffee siphon pot" to resume production and sale.

Research and development of household extraction appliances began in 1964

Kono conical filter was developed in 1968, and special filter paper for filter was developed jointly with Sanyo industry.

In 1985, the third generation president Yasuhsin Kono improved the conical filter, launched 2 people, 4 people, 10 people household filter cup, set up KONO private school, spread KONO unique baking and hand flushing for public enrollment.

In 1919, Mr. Konobin, the first president of Kono, who was then assistant to the Medical Department of Kyushu University, was entrusted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to take office in Singapore as a medical officer of the Embassy. Inspired by the coffee tools made by the British, he began to study, hoping to make "utensils that can make good coffee". In 1925, the world's first glass coffee utensils commercialized, named "coffee siphon" began to sell. After that, he began to roast coffee, insisting on making "better coffee utensils" and "better coffee beans" so far.

KONO is a famous Japanese company that makes coffee utensils. The original creator of the KONO filter cup is a Japanese named Toshio Kono. The filter cup is named after him.

KONO coffee filter cups and original wooden handle coffee pots have always enjoyed a high reputation among drip filter coffee fans. Mr. Kono, the president of coffee filter cups and coffee pots, who designed coffee filter cups and coffee pots, has studied delicious coffee for many years and designed a series of coffee pots full of pastoral KONO coffee filter cups and log handles. KONO is the favorite professional coffee utensils used by coffee shops and coffee professionals in Japan. It is also a product pursued by many lovers who like drip-filter coffee.

Different brands of filters have different designs for water flow channels. The earliest filter cup is the fan-shaped filter cup invented by Mrs. Melita in 1908, the flow trough from top to bottom, single-hole outlet design, one breath full of water, can achieve efficient steaming, suitable for brewing coffee with high concentration; Kalita on this basis, launched a ceramic three-hole fan filter, due to the low thermal conductivity of pottery, it is better to use hot water before brewing. A closer look at the ribs of the KONO filter cup shows that the ribs of the KONO do not extend from the bottom to the top, but stop when they are less than half the height of the filter cup. This height is designed to ensure that during the dripping process, the filter paper can be attached to the wall of the filter cup after absorbing water, and once the exhaust space is limited, the air flow will be limited, which will increase the water absorption time of coffee powder particles. The flow trough on the inside of KONO's filter cup is not from top to bottom, but from the tapered bottom to the full filter cup, which is KONO's design patent and the core reason for keeping coffee pure. Through the design of the flume of the filter cup and the regulation of water injection at different stages, KONO minimizes the damage of water flow and water pressure to the flavor and taste of coffee.
