According to a report in Southern Metropolis Daily on November 4, Nai Xue's tea was fined again for selling expired cakes. According to the official website of the Shanghai Market Supervision and Administration Bureau, the Nanjing West Road Branch of Shanghai Nai Xue Catering Management Co., Ltd. was fined 50,000 yuan by the Shanghai Jing'an District Market Supervision Administration for its production and operation of food and food additives marked with false production dates, shelf life or exceeding the shelf life.
According to the penalty decision, a consumer bought a grape-flavored cake at 20:22 on the evening of September 4 through WeChat Mini Programs's tea store in Shanghai Meilong Town Plaza, Nai Xue. The shelf life label shows that it is 23:59 in the evening on September 3, 2021, and the purchase date is September 4, that is to say, the cake has exceeded its shelf life by the time of purchase.
After investigation, the prepackaged cake was distributed by Shenzhen Pindao Food and Beverage Management Co., Ltd., the head company of Nai Xue's tea brand, to the shops of the company involved in the frozen state on August 27, 2021. The production date of the frozen cake is July 14, 2021, and the shelf life is until October 12, 2021.
The thawing of the cake involved will begin at 07:11 on September 2, 2021. It will take 12 hours to thaw, and the thawing will be completed at 19:11 on September 2, 2021, that is, the listing time of the label. The shelf life of the cake involved after thawing is up to 24:00 the next day, that is, the shelf life on the label.
In accordance with item 1 (5) of Article 124 of the Food Safety Law of the people's Republic of China, the Shanghai Jing'an District Market Supervision and Administration Bureau imposed an administrative penalty on Nai Xue's tea shop in Shanghai Meilong Town Plaza for selling food beyond its expiration date, confiscating the illegal income of RMB 9.26 yuan and fining it RMB 50000 yuan.
Before this incident, Nai Xue's tea had a bad track record. Since Nai Xue's tea was listed in Hong Kong at the end of June and won the "first share of the new tea", it has been in the spotlight, and food safety problems in the stores of the new tea brand have been frequently reported.
On August 2, Xinhua News Agency reporters undercover Beijing Xidan Dayue City Store and Chang'an Shopping Mall found and reported problems such as cockroach crawling, fruit rot, unwashed rags and false labels in the two stores. On August 23, two tea stores in Nai Xue were criticized and fined by the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration for illegal operations in production.
In October, Nai Xue's tea (Shanghai Dongchangzhi Road store) was fined 5000 yuan by the Shanghai Hongkou District Market Supervision Administration and confiscated 25 yuan of illegal income because of the substandard colony count project of the sampled golden mountain treasure tea.
Since its listing, there has been one negative news after another. The market capitalization of Naixue's tea Hong Kong shares has halved from HK $19.80 a share in IPO to HK $9 a share as of November 3.
