Luckin Coffee opened a second baking factory! And said that it will develop globally!
Luckin Coffee's successful self-rescue and rapid development in recent years are also obvious to all. I have to say, Lucky's marketing team is very discerning, not only to grasp the public consumer demand for innovative taste, launched a raw coconut latte, with the fire of the entire beverage circle, but also let Lucky brand deeply imprinted in the hearts of consumers.
In addition to the innovation of taste, Ruixing also began to study the SOE series of boutique coffee, which not only made more consumers aware of the term "boutique coffee", but also raised ordinary consumers' awareness of the Luckin Coffee brand.
As sales continue to rise rapidly and the brand has gained more consumer trust, the production of Luckin Coffee baking plant began to have "pressure". If we rely solely on the baking plant in Pingnan, Fujian Province, if Lucky continues to expand in the future, production efficiency may not be able to keep up.

So since last year, Lucky has been plotting a new place to open a second coffee roasting plant. After a year of on-the-spot visits to many cities, Ruixing decided to set up a new roasting coffee factory in Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province.
On May 10, Luckin Coffee held a "cloud signing" ceremony with Kunshan Development Zone. Luckin Coffee Food (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. will build Luckin Coffee Kunshan Baking Plant in this development zone, which integrates coffee research and development, baking production and sales center. Relevant officials said that after the roasting plant is officially put into use, the annual roasting capacity of coffee beans is expected to reach 30,000 tons.

On May 27th, Luckin Coffee Food (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. was established with a registered capital of US $40 million and the legal representative Xia Wei, whose business scope includes food sales, import and export of goods, domestic trade agent, etc. Shareholder information shows that the company is wholly owned by Luckin Coffee Bakery (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd.
This is another major coffee industry project won by Kunshan Development Zone after the Starbucks China Coffee Innovation Industry Park project was established two years ago. Ruixing also chose to be here this time, because Kunshan City is trying its best to build a whole industry chain base integrating coffee production, coffee research and development, brand sales, platform trading and logistics distribution. According to current trends, more coffee brands are expected to set up roasting plants here in the next few years.

The head of Luckin Coffee Food (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. said that after the new baking plant is built and put into production, it will provide the domestic market with fresh roasted, safe and pollution-free high-quality coffee bean raw materials. It is expected that in the next 1 to 3 years, Ruixing will aim at global development, strengthen brand strategy, develop fine global supply chain, deepen technological innovation, talent and information strategy, and devote itself to creating world-class coffee brands from China.
Ruixing Bakery, located in Pingnan, Fujian Province, is a joint venture with LDC and Luckin Coffee, with a total investment of 210 million yuan and covers an area of 45000 square meters. The plant was officially put into production on April 18, 2021, and the annual roasting capacity of coffee beans can reach 15000 tons.

This time, the new roasting plant in Kunshan is invested independently by Luckin Coffee, with a total investment of about 1 billion yuan. It is expected to be put into production in 2024, and the annual baking capacity will be twice that of the Xiamen roasting plant. At the same time, the coffee R & D and energy sales center will be "three in one", and the area is expected to be 1.5-2 times larger than that of the Pingnan roasting plant. It is also possible that, like Starbucks' Shanghai Bakery, it will give consumers a more intuitive view of the coffee roasting process.
