On the morning of February 20, Ruixing Coffee announced on several platforms that Anthony Douglas, winner of the WBC World Barista Competition in 2022, officially became a member of the Ruixing WBC Champions Group. From March this year, Anthony Douglas will lead the Ruixing Bean Search Group to Ethiopia and Panama, two famous coffee producing areas.

This is the 5th WBC champion invited by Ruixing after 2014 champion Hideori Izaki, 2003 Italian champion Andrea Latuvada, 2017 Chinese champion Pan Zhimin and 2018 World Barista Championship champion Agnieszka Rojewels.
Earlier, the coffee workshop had an article introducing the champion's hardcore operation of moving his lab to the barista competition. At that time, he used the technique of "cryodesiccation" to condense milk into "milk powder" and then add it to milk liquid to double the milk flavor and fat content.

Anthony combines his "concentrated milk" with anaerobic sun-dried Sidra coffee beans from Huila El Diviso, Colombia, to make cappuccino, which shows a very rich taste and maintains a better foam shape. His unique blend impressed the judges and he won the World Barista (WBC) Competition 2022.
The WBC World Barista title earned Anthony more attention from industry insiders. Just last month, the top coffee maker brand La Marzocco announced via social media that Anthony would serve as La Marzocco's official global ambassador.

Born in Australia, Anthony is a native of Melbourne. At the age of 18, he went to Sydney to work in a Spanish restaurant where he developed an interest in coffee. So the next year he decided to move back to Melbourne and officially start his career as a barista.
In 2015, with a love and passion for coffee, Anthony came to Melbourne's local coffee brand Axil and continued to delve into coffee-related technology under the cultivation of founder Dave Makin. Over the past seven years, from the local competition to the Australian sub-competition, Anthony has been constantly chasing the ultimate performance of a good cup of coffee, and this championship ranking should also prove his dedication and precipitation over the years. After winning the World Barista Championship, Anthony transitioned from training manager at Axil Coffee Roasters to R & D, hoping to explore fine coffee further.

Looking back at Ruixing's actions in boutique coffee in recent years, while opening stores, it also does not forget to launch innovative drinks on major social platforms. This time, Anthony Douglas, the "freshly baked" champion, will also lead the bean search team to Ethiopia and Panama origin areas to deeply participate in the raw bean procurement process.
