Coffee is grown in many countries on all continents in the world, while in Central America, coffee is grown in many countries, such as Guatemala, Panama, Costa Rica, Honduras and so on. Guatemala is famous for its high-quality alpine hard beans and has become the ninth largest coffee producer in the world.

Guatemala Guatemala

Guatemala is located in the southern part of North America, bordering Mexico, Honduras, Belize and El Salvador, with the Caribbean Sea to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the south. Guatemala is 2/3 mountains and plateaus, with the Kuchu Matanes Mountains in the west and Mount Madre in the south, all of which belong to volcanic belts. There are 37 volcanoes in the country.

Guatemala is located in the tropics, the northern and eastern coastal areas have a tropical rain forest climate, the southern mountains have a subtropical climate, with a wet season from May to October and a dry season from November to April of the following year. Coffee beans are generally grown in alpine areas, with annual temperatures ranging from 1300 to 1800 meters above sea level, with temperatures ranging from 18 ℃ to 28 ℃, usually colder from January to February, and annual rainfall of 2000 to 3000 millimeters in the northeast. High altitude, volcanic soil, large temperature difference between day and night, sufficient Rain Water and changeable microclimate bring elegant and lively acidity, clean taste and layered coffee flavor to Guatemalan coffee beans.

New Oriental Nuevo Oriente producing area

Coffee is grown in 20 of Guatemala's 22 provinces. Eight of them are well-known, divided into five volcanic producing areas and three non-volcanic producing areas, and coffee is planted at an average elevation of more than 1500 meters. Non-volcanic areas include Vivette Nanguo (Huehuetenango), Coban (Coban) and New Oriental (Nuevo Oriente). Volcanic areas include Atitlan, Antigua, Acatenango, Fraijanes and San Marcos. Among them, Vivette Nango and Antigua are more famous. Qianjie Coffee has a washed Guatemalan Vivette Nanguo coffee bean, which is selected as an entry, with slight acidity, citrus, berry and nutty flavors.

New Oriental (Nuevo Oriente) is located in eastern Guatemala, near Honduras, is the youngest coffee producing area, only in the 1950s began to grow coffee in this area. Rain Water is abundant in this area all the year round, with an altitude of 1500-2050 meters above sea level, so the area is always shrouded in mist, the sunshine time is relatively short, and it will be wetter than other producing areas. New Oriental was once one of the poorest and most isolated regions in Guatemala, because it was a volcanic area in ancient times, but it also led to the soil rich in minerals, coupled with the rich Rain Water and high altitude. The coffee beans produced here are quite complex and changeable in flavor.

Ruoxia Geisha variety

In the 1930s, the Geisha variety was found in the Ethiopian forest and was found to be resistant to coffee leaf rust in many countries. It was finally discovered by the jadeite manor owner in Panama, and took part in the best Panama (BOP) competition in 2005, winning the competition for its delicate flowers, jasmine, peach, bergamot flavor and unusually high score. It also broke the auction price record of coffee beans at that time, selling for more than $20 per list, which also made Rosa coffee beans famous. This has attracted countless countries to introduce Rosa Rosa to grow at home, and Guatemala is one of them.

On the coffee plant, the leaves of the rose tree species are thin and slender, the tip of the young leaves are green or bronze, the branches are slender and spaced, the coffee cherry is mainly red or yellow fruit, the shape of the raw bean is mainly pointed bean, and the overall tree shape is larger, but it is relatively fragile. Although it has a certain resistance to coffee leaf rust, it is vulnerable to nematode and coffee berry disease, so it is suitable for planting in areas above 1600 meters above sea level. The higher the altitude, the better the quality.
