Qianjie suddenly remembered that at the peak of Sakuran, there is often a rumor on the Internet that Sakui is the top rose summer! Presumably, now that the information of Huakui has been completely "exposed", people can tell at a glance whether this sentence is true or false, but at that time, people do feel confused, and the reason for this rumor, it has something to do with another name of Rosa-"geisha".
"Geisha", another name of Rosa in China
In 1931, Geisha was found in a forest in Ethiopia, but the Geisha did not cause any waves until 73 years later, in 2004, when the Emerald Manor in Panama used the Geisha species obtained from Costa Rica to win the BOP competition, Geisha was known to the world. As a result, in the following time, Geisha has almost become a necessary "winning bean" for all the major estates and players in the competition.
Since Geisha and the English word "geisha" are the same word, our compatriots in Taiwan have translated Geisha into English and called it a geisha. But later it was found that Geisha had a double meaning in Ethiopia, referring to a specific area in southwestern Ethiopia and the coffee species in that particular area. So in 2006, when Mr. Yuan of Cafe Coffee first imported Panamanian Geisha into Chinese mainland, he named it "Rose Summer".
What are the representatives of top Rosa Coffee?
Many guests talk about rose summer in the front street, but they can't get around the two "marks" on the blackboard, one is the red sign rose summer of the emerald manor, the other is the gold mark rose summer of the rose summer village manor. Because the cost of raw beans is higher, Qianjie specially distinguishes them with the corresponding hand prices, which are "75 / cup" and "60 / cup" respectively, which has attracted the attention of many friends, especially those who have heard a lot about Rosa Xia for a long time. But friends who haven't had a chance to taste it yet.
Baristas say these marked roses are named in order to highlight its high grade, whether it's the red and gold marks, or the green and blue marks in turn, even if we can't tell who comes first by looking at the prefix, we must know that this x-marked rose summer from xx Manor should be higher in grade than ordinary rose summer, and of course, it may also be more expensive. In fact, such words with "marks" will only appear in the Chinese context, in other words, when we use their English names back, you may not be able to recognize who is who and who is more advanced than who.
The red label Rose Summer of Jadeite Manor, whose real name is "Esmeralda Special" and translated into Chinese as "Jadeite Special selection", is the highest quality Rosa coffee bean sold by the estate. It requires not only a cup test score of more than 91 points, but also a detailed "birth information" for each batch. The "red" in the red mark is taken from the trademark background color of this product, as is the green and blue mark of the Jade Manor, which is designed to make it easier for domestic consumers to remember and identify them.
Similarly, the gold standard of Rose Xia Village Manor has its own English name "Rarities", which translates to "rare treasures". In short, it means the highest grade of Rose Xia (non-auction lots). The "gold" in the gold bid is also taken from the background color of the product trademark. According to the official website of Ruoxia Village, this grade of Rosa coffee accounts for only 10% of the total output of the manor, and like the red mark of Jade Manor, each batch contains plot information for buyers' reference.
Although this way of replacing the original product name with background color, which is popular in China, does make different grades of Rosa popular and easy to remember, sometimes it makes an own dragon because of "color collision". For example, in the Rose Summer production and sales system established by each of these two manors, there are levels with red and green as background boards, so there are two "red marks" and two "green marks" on the market. When you order, remember to keep an eye on it, or ask the barista which estate Rose Summer is from.
The favorite for many years-"Sakuran"
In 2017, the Buku Abel processing plant in Humbera, a Gujizi region in Ethiopia, won the TOH championship with a piece of sun-treated native coffee beans. It has a strong strawberry flavor, high sweet, smooth cream texture. This bean is Sakuran!
After winning the championship, the champion batch of raw beans were introduced by raw bean traders in Beijing. Then, in the World Cooking Competition in the same year, Li Jianfei, the runner-up in China, used this bean to beat many magnificent summers to win the runner-up.
Therefore, this bean immediately got a very high exposure, coupled with a very high performance-to-price ratio conquered all the friends, so that every year after that, we can see the new season of Sakuran with a new number rushed to the hot!
What does Huakui 8.0 mean?
In our impression, the naming of coffee beans usually has traces to follow, and once implemented, it will not be changed, such as Rosesia is the variety, Blue Mountain is the producing area, Guoding is the processing plant, and so on. But Sakuran is particularly special. Like Apple's iPhone, it needs a new "version name" to go on sale every year. Why?
In fact, before this bean was called "Sakuran", it only had an English name "Hambella", which was translated as "Humbela". To put it bluntly, what we call "Huakui Coffee" is a traditional sun-dried G1 coffee bean in Humbera, and the "Buku Abel" processing station is its more detailed traceability information, which is located in Dimtu town.
After "Huakui" became famous, in order to meet the surge in market demand, DW added five independent drying stations for raw coffee beans in Hambella Wamena Wereda, all of which are located in the core producing area Dimtu town. In addition to the original Buku Abel, four small villages such as Buku Saysay, Haro Soresa, Tirtiro Goye and Seke Bokosa have also joined the production of sun-cured coffee beans. It is reported that at this time, DW's annual production of "Sakuran" has reached tens of millions of tons.
Since the 2018 production season, there have been some changes in the taste of Sakui (Solar G1 coffee beans) from the same planting area and the same treatment station. Qianjie found through the cup test at that time that although the 2018 and 2019 Sakuran had a flavor similar to that of the 17-year Sakuran, it was not as good as the original Sakuran in terms of mellow thickness and aftertaste.
So, in order to continue to sell this sun-tanned coffee from Humbera, while making a distinction from the original, the domestic raw bean trading company has developed an X.0 suffix for subsequent batches after 2017, such as "Sakuran 2.0" in 2018 and "Sakuran 3.0 and 3.1" in 2019. Last year's listing was "Sakuran 7.0", and so on. In this way, we can use this suffix to identify which batch of Sakuran we bought belongs to.
Then why do people think that Sakuran is the top rose summer?
In fact, when it comes to this, I believe we have more or less the answer in mind, the reason is the name "Sakuran"! The earliest name of Rosa in China is "geisha", and in Japanese culture, geisha is the title of an artistic performer! At first they were just staff performing in entertainment venues, but people are often mistaken for another professional staff in the venue. So, in order to distinguish them from another occupation in the place, they have the name "geisha". And the top performers in geisha will be given the title of "Sakuran"!
The reason why this sun native species is named Huakui means that it can defeat Rose Summer and become the top existence of beans! Then, through the spread on the Internet, from "Sakuran wants to defeat Rose Summer and become the Top Class", it has become "Sakuran Coffee Bean is the Top Rose Summer", which really makes people laugh and cry. In order not to make jokes in the future, Qianjie thinks that it is necessary for us to know what "Hua Kui Flavor" and "Rose Summer Flavor" are, and the difference between them.

Sakuran, if we take it literally, we may think it is a coffee full of fragrance. In fact, Sakuran's floral notes are not particularly strong, but fruit aromas are particularly prominent, such as cream strawberries, mangoes, jackfruit, citrus, blueberries and so on. The ripe tropical fruit flavor of Sidamo sun beans is often impressive, and it is this rich berry aroma that won the first place in that year's TOH raw bean competition.
In the new season in Qianjie, Huakui 8.0 shows a stronger fruit tone than 7.0. it has dense aromas such as guava, jackfruit, apricot, preserved fruit, citrus and pink flowers. At the entrance, you can feel the sweet and sour interweaving of dried mango, jackfruit, orange, passion fruit and other fruits. The juice is clear and round. As the temperature drops slightly, the sweetness of peaches and the bright acidity of berries begin to release. After swallowing, you can feel the sweetness as when drinking black tea, the level is very rich.
The reason why Rose Summer is loved by countless coffee people is that unlike the thick black coffee in the traditional impression, it is more like a fresh cup of flower and fruit tea. With rich aromas and complex fruit flavors, reminiscent of a series of unusual aromas. At different temperatures, you can feel the delicate texture and sweet and sour fruit flavor fill the whole mouth. Rose summer has such extraordinary flavor characteristics that it has become the "ceiling" of many coffee people.
