The caffeine produced by Tarrazu is of high quality and is very famous in boutique coffee, and it has become one of the most famous and excellent coffee producing areas in Costa rica. it appears on the award list of Costa Rican COE Cup all the year round. In this year's COE list, 22 of the 30 coffees come from Tarazu. What's so special about Tarazhu?

First of all, Costa Rica was the first country in Central America to grow and export coffee, growing coffee in the early 18th century and exporting coffee in the early 19th century. The country inherently has a natural environment suitable for coffee growth, and the country attaches great importance to the coffee industry, has been making efforts to produce quality coffee, and has issued a ban on the production of any coffee variety other than Arabica varieties.

Coffee cultivation is mainly concentrated in the mountains of central Costa Rica, divided into eight major coffee producing areas, of which Tarrazu is the most famous, among which Tarazhu is one of the largest and highest-growing coffee producing areas.

Tarazhu is located in the southeast of the capital province of San Jose, surrounded by a number of volcanoes and national forest parks, while the Pacific Ocean, Atlantic currents and sea breeze regulate the climate, making the climate cool, with an average temperature of 19 ℃. Coffee grows in mountains 1500-2100 meters above sea level, and does not use pesticides and artificial fertilizers, providing a unique growing environment for coffee growth.

Thanks to the fact that the country began to develop the coffee industry earlier, the rich experience and abundant funds of coffee farmers over the years can be described as a favorable time, place and people, and these conditions have formed a virtuous circle in the coffee industry in Tarazhu producing area. to keep the quality of its coffee at a high level. Therefore, the coffee produced is very popular because of its mild taste, high acidity, aroma and rich texture.

At present, there are also many well-known sub-production areas in Tarazhu production area, such as Los Santos (Los Santos), Dota and so on. And there are many well-known coffee estates, such as Milasu Manor (Mirazu), San Isidro Labrador Manor (Hacienda San Isidro Labrador) and so on.

Because of Tara Zhu's fame, many coffee producers used to fake the name "Tara Zhu" to get higher benefits. In order to prevent this situation, the Costa Rican government registered the coffee origin name "Caf é de Tarraz ú" with the European Union and the World intellectual property Organization (WIPO) in 2019, with the aim of protecting the world's unique Tarazu producing area and Tarazu coffee.

Ninety-five per cent of coffee beans produced in Tarazhu are SHB. SHB is the grading system for coffee in Costa Rica, which, like most Central American coffee-producing countries, is divided by the altitude at which coffee is grown. Costa Rica believes that the higher the altitude, the lower the temperature, so that the fresh fruit of the coffee will take longer to ripen, resulting in more sugar accumulation, richer flavor, better density and hardness.

It is mainly divided into three grades: SHB, GHB and MHB. SHB (STRICTLY HARD BEAN) is a kind of coffee raw bean which is grown at an altitude of more than 1200 meters. GHB (GOOD HARD BEAN) is planted between 1000 and 1200 meters above sea level. MHB (MEDIUM HARD BEAN) are coffee beans grown below 1000 meters above sea level.

In Qianjie Coffee, there are currently five types of coffee beans from Costa Rica, all from the Tarazu producing area. The Tara Pearl production area is used in the entry series, using the common Costa Rican Kaddura Caturra and Kaduai Catuai varieties, which are flavored with sweet orange, chocolate and nutty flavors.
