Recently, a post on the social platform that "you can do a manicure at Coffee Coffee" has aroused the attention and heated discussion of netizens.

The poster said he noticed a manicure on the hands of an employee who packaged drinks while picking up a meal at a Kudi store in early November. Beautiful long fingernails may be a delightful decoration for the employee, but in the eyes of customers, the manicures of catering practitioners may pose a certain food safety risk to consumers' drinks.

After discovering the situation, the customer gave feedback to the authorities on his own scene. The customer service registered it and said it would contact the store manager and ask the other party to rectify it.

In this regard, some users in the comment area believe that everyone has a love of beauty, and it is only natural to hit workers for a manicure. And most of the staff in the chain stores have a clear division of labor, and the manicurist may be a part-time worker who is only responsible for packing and serving meals. He usually does not come into contact with raw materials, nor does he have to make drinks, which should not pollute the prepared drinks.

Some netizens also said that some of the coffee shop assistants they met would do beautiful and exquisite manicures, while others would wear jewelry on their hands, which would not affect their work efficiency and product quality. on the contrary, it will make the process of making coffee pleasing to the eye. So many people think that the poster is making a mountain out of a molehill and reporting directly to the brand may make the shop assistant deduct his salary or even lose his job.

However, neither the poster nor the practitioners in the catering industry agree with netizens' explanation of the clerk's manicure behavior.

They pointed out that according to the Code of practice for Food Safety in Catering Services issued by the State Administration of Market Supervision in July 2018, employees are not allowed to grow their nails and apply nail polish. And the beautiful and exquisite manicure not only has nail polish, but also may have ornaments such as broken diamonds. If in the process of making a meal, the decorations on the nail noodles accidentally fall into the food, it is possible for customers to eat foreign bodies, resulting in food safety accidents.

In addition to industry norms, chain brands mostly have their own rules and regulations, and have clear and detailed requirements in terms of employees' appearance, such as wearing masks and hair nets every day.

Netizens who have worked in the catering industry all said that before they took up their posts, the store manager would apply for three or five orders, emphasizing that they should not keep their nails or do manicures. After all, once someone violates the rules and is found by the inspectors, in addition to being punished for review and deduction, the store may also be required to rectify and fine.

In addition, workers say that although long and delicate nails are good-looking, they are actually easy to hide dirt, and consumers will inevitably feel uncomfortable when they see the coffee shop clerk's manicure. Therefore, most of them support the customer's feedback to the brand, urging the stores to strictly enforce the relevant regulations, so that consumers can feel at ease to buy.

However, the customer's complaint against the store did not receive a reply from the brand until more than 20 days later. The poster said that he recently received a call from Kudi customer service, who apologized to the customer for the matter, saying that he had asked the store to carry out rectification and that the clerk involved would be fined accordingly.

When asked about the punishment, the customer service said it was inconvenient to tell the specific rules and regulations, but it was not as serious as netizens guessed to deduct the current month's salary or dismiss the employee.
