In theory, it is possible, because the water temperature of most coffee machines can be adjusted to meet the extraction temperature needed for hand-brewed coffee. At the same time, the hot water of the coffee machine can be freely controlled, and the effluent drips on a large scale, so it can also make the extraction more uniform. The only disadvantage is that because the hot water is dripping down, it does not have the penetrating power and cannot stir the coffee powder. Lack of stirring will reduce the overall extraction efficiency, and the brewed coffee is prone to insufficient extraction.
But fortunately, this deficiency can be made up by adjusting other parameters. For example, raise the water temperature, adjust the grinding, or prolong the extraction time. Of course, we can also use external objects for physical mixing. All in all, it is feasible in theory! The cooking experiment was entangled for a long time, and finally decided to use Kaduai of Alida Manor as the bean for this experiment! Medium-shallow roasting and regular sun treatment can make us drink Italian-style coffee more obviously than that made by hand. The extraction parameters are as follows:
Amount of powder used: 20g
Degree of grinding: 10 scale of Ek43, 80% overscreening rate of No. 20 screen, fine sugar grinding
Ratio of powder to water: 1:15
Boiling water temperature: 94 °C (the actual water temperature from the coffee machine will drop)

Although you may not necessarily try, Qianjie should remind us here: we must clean the brewing head before using the coffee maker, otherwise the coffee powder left on it will probably fall into the filter cup and affect the performance of the brewed coffee. According to the usual practice, let's wet the filter paper first!
Then pour the coffee powder into it and place the filter cup on the sharing pot. Because the Italian coffee machine Lelite3 used in the front street is too close to the water distribution network, the pool needs to be removed to put the sharing pot, filter cup and electronic scale on it. Then when we are ready, we can start the extraction. First, we turn on the water valve and release 40ml hot water to steam the coffee powder for up to 30 seconds.

After the steaming is over, we open the water valve to inject the second stage of hot water, which uses a small flow to inject "the flow rate of 4ml per second", a total of 140ml. As the area of the powder bed is expanded after steaming, the hot water dripping from the water distribution network can not touch all the coffee powder, so when injecting water, we can properly turn the filter cup so that the hot water can infiltrate all the coffee powder, so as to achieve uniform extraction.
When the amount of water needed to fill the second stage of hot water is filled, we wait for the coffee liquid to permeate. After almost infiltration, we open the water valve to inject the third stage of hot water, which is a total of 120ml, which will be injected at the rate of 6ml per second.
The coffee drip filtration is finished in nearly 3 minutes, and then we can remove the filter cup and start tasting!
Not bad! The Kaduai flavor of this pot is well demonstrated by the coffee machine: peaches, oranges, raisins, and the extraction rate is as high as 20.25%. However, because there is no mixing and a long time, compared with the manual cooking hand or slightly inferior, the tail rhyme with a little bitter, miscellaneous taste. So Qianjie immediately flushed back a pot and added stirring during the second stage of water injection, shortening the extraction time. As a result, it was much better than the previous pot, with no bitterness and miscellaneous taste, a smoother taste and a clean green tea.
So we can know that the espresso machine can indeed be used for hand flushing! So, at this point, we can discuss the original question: can you still make coffee by hand when you make coffee with an Italian coffee machine?
