According to the store rules, as long as customers who consume the order in the store, whether members or ordinary guests, can have an unlimited cup of hot coffee, iced coffee or tea for free during the consumption period.
However, some beverages are not in the category of free refill service, such as nitrogen cold extract coffee, ordinary cold extract coffee, etc.; takeout orders can not be renewed for free, users can contact Starbucks employees with the details of this thoughtful service when placing orders.
At the same time, some customers have recently noticed that when they choose to eat in the store, the clerks will replace the paper cups with glasses and mugs, and the ordered bread and cakes will be placed on ceramic trays instead of paper bags.
The change is also part of Starbucks' new policy, with some stores switching to reusable glasses, ceramic cutlery and other dishes. Starbucks' new Code of Conduct for Cafe clearly states that all store spaces, including indoor seating areas, outdoor terraces and bathrooms, are available only to actual customers and store staff. This means that non-consumer customers will not be able to occupy or use store facilities for a long time.
In-store behavior regulations have also been adjusted, such as not allowing begging, to further ensure the comfort and safety of the store environment. But some employees worry that the move could exacerbate conflicts between customers and shop assistants.
In response, Starbucks insisted that the new policy will enable employees to work in a safer environment and help maintain order in the store. Some stores have even installed system monitoring to ensure the safety of the use of bathrooms, which also shows that the brand attaches importance to in-store experience and employee safety.
Starbucks CEO Nicole said the offline store adjustment is an important part of the "return to Starbucks" strategy to optimize users' dining experience and reshape the warm cafe environment to regain the favor of consumers and keep regular customers in the comfortable space provided by Starbucks.
Separately, the CEO said on Tuesday's earnings call that he would soon "reduce drinks and food by about 30 per cent". He said the Starbucks menu was "too complex", causing customers to wait too long and would simplify the menu. At present, the series of olive oil drinks and chilled energy drinks have been cancelled, and perhaps some other drinks with mediocre sales will also be removed from the menu.
