Performance and taste

Smart or not, the most basic requirement of a coffee machine is to be able to make delicious coffee. As a drip-type coffee machine, Mr.Coffee obviously can't compare with the tens of thousands of yuan professional machines in coffee shops. Its water tank supports up to 10 cups, and its filter design uses a replacement design at a price of $12, which needs to be replaced about once a month for better taste restoration.

As for cooking performance, Mr.Coffee can heat water to about 94 degrees Celsius in about 4 minutes and cook in 30 seconds, and the extraction rate of coffee is about 14%, below the delicious standard of 23%, which is slightly disappointing. If you like strong coffee, Mr.Coffee may not be for you.

Intelligent characteristic

Mr.Coffee supports Belkin WeMo's wireless connection platform, and you can download iOS or Android applications to control the coffee machine. You can prepare coffee powder and water in the evening, use the app to set the cooking time, and get a cup of hot coffee on time when you get up in the morning. In addition, WeMo applications can also use Mr.Coffee built-in sensors to achieve some notification experience, such as reminding users that the water tank is empty, the filter needs to be replaced, and so on.

Unfortunately, although Mr.Coffee supports WeMo applications, it does not interact with other Belkin's smart home devices, limiting its usage scenarios. You may want to achieve some linkage operations, such as automatically turning on the Belge wireless light bulb to remind you to get up when Mr.Coffee makes coffee in the morning, but it is obviously not possible for the time being. IFTTT applications and interactivity clearly require standard features for smart home devices, and we hope that Mr.Coffee will improve this in future firmware.
