Starbucks will open its first coffee shop in Vietnam next month, the 12th country in the Asia-Pacific region.
Starbucks (SBUX) announced Thursday that it plans to open its first coffee shop in Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City next month as part of its strategy to expand into the Asian market.
Starbucks said it has opened more than 3300 stores in 11 countries and regions in the Asia-Pacific region, including China, with Vietnam becoming the 12th.
Vietnam, the world's second-largest coffee producer after Brazil, has previously supplied high-quality coffee beans to Starbucks stores in other countries. Due to the deep influence of French culture, coffee has become an indispensable thing in Vietnamese life. Street coffee shops can be seen everywhere, and they are cheap and varied. A cup of coffee ranges from two or three yuan to dozens of yuan, which can meet the needs of all walks of life.
Last October, Starbucks teamed up with Tata Global Beverages (Tata Global Beverages) to open its first Indian store in Mumbai.
