First China Barista Trainer & National Assessor Course

The rapid growth of China’s specialty coffee scene has outpaced the development of consistent, professional training standards. Without unified guidance, barista instruction varies widely in quality, leaving aspiring professionals and employers uncertain about credentials and skills. A new initiative aims to fix that.

The first national-level 'Barista Vocational Training Instructors and National Assessors Program' will run December 17–21 in Beijing. It’s designed to standardize barista education, certify qualified trainers and evaluators, and support sustainable growth in China’s professional coffee workforce.

Hosted with backing from China’s National Skills Appraisal Center and the China Employment Training Technical Instruction Center, the course certifies participants as both vocational training instructors and national assessors for the barista occupation. Successful graduates will be officially listed in both the National Skills Appraisal Center database and relevant industry talent pools. They’ll also be eligible to contribute to national training bases and vocational school teaching and evaluation programs.
