Coffee bean market Indian coffee exports rose 6% in 2014
According to the Economic Times of India, India's coffee exports this year were 300000 tons, down 4 per cent from a year earlier, while exports rose 6 per cent to 49.86 billion rupees. India exported 312000 tons of coffee in 2013, with an export value of 46.92 billion rupees. The export price of coffee in 2014 was 165500 rupees / ton, up from 150200 rupees / ton last year.
In 2014, India exported 137000 tons of robusta coffee, down 16%; Arabica coffee 59800 tons, up 9%; instant coffee 46000 tons, up 79%.
In 2014, Indian coffee was mainly exported to Italy (68400 tons), Germany (30, 000 tons), Russia (22400 tons), Turkey (15800 tons), Belgium (13900 tons) and Indonesia (11500 tons). There are also a small number of exports to Slovenia, Jordan, Ukraine and Malaysia.
It is estimated that India will produce about 344800 tons of coffee in the 2014-15 crop year, compared with 304500 tons in the previous crop.
