81.5 minutes of Pu'er produces the world's top coffee beans.
Starbucks recently hired famous cup tasters Jeremy Wakeford to conduct coffee tasting in Pu'er. During this period, a sample of coffee beans from Pu'er was given a high score of 81.5 by the cup tasters. It is understood that the world-famous Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee usually scores between 79 and 80 points. This good news undoubtedly adds fuel to Pu'er 's "coffee strategy". At present, Pu'er coffee accounts for more than half of the country in terms of output and planting area.
Yunnan coffee is as good as Blue Mountain.
The coffee beans with a score of 81.5 were selected out of 200 samples by a world-class tasting designer sent by Starbucks to Yunnan for coffee tasting work. According to reports, this coffee bean comes from the Manzhongtian Manor in Pu'er, which is 1400-1500 meters above sea level and is located on a very steep hill, so it is very suitable for the growth of high-quality coffee.
The taster is said to have praised that if you put this coffee in oak barrels, no one can distinguish it from Blue Mountain coffee, saying it is one of the few top coffees he has tasted in his life.
On February 6 this year, coffee giant Starbucks signed a cooperation agreement with Yunnan Aiyi Group in Kunming to set up a joint venture in Yunnan. According to reports, the new company will be 51% owned by Starbucks. In the first phase, the joint venture will acquire, process and export coffee beans throughout the province. In the future, the company will carry out more business, including tea.
Pu'er will build "Coffee Capital"
In fact, the cooperation between the two companies is closely related to Pu'er. While cooperating with Starbucks, Aiyi Group will also increase the development of its coffee industry. The group will invest 1 billion yuan during the 12th five-year Plan period to implement the project of intensive processing of Pu'er coffee and coffee supporting equipment, so as to completely change the situation of short chain and low efficiency of Pu'er coffee industry. The project is expected to be completed and put into production in 2015, with an annual output of 3000 tons of fried coffee beans, 5000 tons of fried coffee powder and 20, 000 tons of canned coffee beverages, with an estimated output value of more than 5 billion yuan.
According to Li Xiaoping, mayor of Pu'er City, Pu'er currently has a coffee planting area of 439000 mu and an output of 28000 tons, accounting for more than half of the country's output and area. The coffee produced by Pu'er has been known to the major coffee consumers in the world because of its excellent quality. "in the global coffee evaluation system, Blue Mountain Coffee is the highest quality coffee." Li Xiaoping said.
Pu'er will become the "coffee capital" of China, which will become the first in China in terms of planting area, output, quality, consumption and coffee cultural aggregation, and form the "key laboratory of coffee standards" in China. Within 5-10 years, the acreage has reached 1 million mu, and the output has reached 9-100000 tons, making the coffee industry a rich industry for local farmers.
