Pu'er Meteorology actively serves the production of characteristic Agricultural Coffee
Yuan Dengqing Wang Zhaoming, correspondent of China Meteorological Daily, reported that Pu'er is a key development area of coffee industry in Yunnan Province, accounting for about half of the province's acreage and more than 60% of the province's output. The mature picking and flowering period of Pu'er small-grain coffee is from December to March every year. Drought will affect the photosynthesis of coffee, dwarf and even dry up the coffee.
In view of the recent drought in Pu'er, the Meteorological Bureau of Pu'er City launched the activity of "Coffee Meteorological Science Popularization into the Village", visited more than 500 villagers' cooperatives and farmers, and presented more than 7000 copies of the Handbook on High-yield and High-quality cultivation techniques of small seed Coffee. At the same time, strengthen drought monitoring, pay close attention to soil moisture, contact the agricultural department in time, do a good job in drought analysis and evaluation, timely put forward suggestions on coffee drought resistance, and make every effort to ensure coffee production. In order to serve the development of coffee characteristic industry in Pu'er City and give full play to the positive role of meteorology in serving agriculture, the Meteorological Bureau of Pu'er City has also organized and built a meteorological monitoring station network in the coffee park, which can automatically obtain coffee scientific research meteorological elements such as temperature, humidity, rainfall, sunshine and radiation in the coffee park. It provides a scientific basis for "fine climate regionalization and meteorological conditions of main diseases and insect pests of small grain coffee in Pu'er City" and the development of coffee industry in Pu'er City during the Twelfth five-year Plan.
