Statistical Analysis report of Coffee consumption in China in 2014
It is expected to become the most potential coffee consumer in the world. In 2012, China's consumption reached 130000 tons, and the market retail sales will reach 70 billion yuan. The growth rate of the Beijing market is as high as 18%. There are 13600 cafes and 2200 coffee-related enterprises across the country, with 500000 employees. Because of the scale and attractiveness of its consumer market, more and more foreign enterprises have begun to pay attention to the Chinese market. This is the main reason why major coffee producers and coffee manufacturers are keen to enter China.
According to the Forecast report on the Operation and Future situation of China's Coffee Industry from 2014 to 2018, the planting area of coffee in the province reached 1.34 million mu in 2012, with an output of 82000 tons, an increase of 45.6% and 26.1% respectively over the same period last year. Coffee planting area and output have accounted for more than 99% of the country's total. In 2013, the planting area of coffee in Yunnan has exceeded 1.4 million mu. Yunnan is the main coffee producing area in China, with a coffee planting area of 1.5 million mu, accounting for 99% of China's coffee production and 1% of the world coffee production. Coffee production in the new season is expected to be close to 100000 tons, with both acreage and production reaching record highs.
Analysts in the Zhongyan Puhua Agricultural Research report believe that the Chinese coffee market is growing at an annual rate of about 15%, while the international market is growing at only 2% a year.
