Cathay Pacific partnered with illy to launch freshly ground coffee on the plane
Cathay Pacific Airways announced that it partnered with Italian coffee brand illy to offer selected coffee to first-class and business passengers on all flights. Illy fresh instant coffee is now available on Cathay Pacific flights, while illy espresso, latte and cappuccino will also be launched from March.
Cathay Pacific Airways said that after many tests, it is hoped that passengers will still be able to taste coffee that satisfies multi-sensory enjoyment in the upper air with low taste buds and low olfactory sensitivity. Illy medium and deep roasted coffee beans are brighter in color and thicker, and their aroma and taste are the best on the plane, so that passengers can taste the same strong coffee as the ground.
Cathay Pacific Airways partnered with illy to launch in-flight coffee.
Apart from choosing the right coffee, Cathay Pacific Airways said that it is also working with illy to develop coffee filter bags suitable for aircraft special coffee machines to ensure that the filter bags can achieve the best results when they are too small to be distilled. In addition, the water temperature and time of brewing coffee have also been carefully studied and coordinated to ensure that fragrant coffee can be perfectly presented in front of passengers.
