Last Updated: 2024/11/08, Since the 1990s, another fragrant journey starting from Pu'er has become busier and busier, and the breath is more refreshing, the source of which is a full grain of coffee beans.

Along the highway from Pu'er to Xishuangbanna, after passing the toll station of the South Island River, there is a fork to the left. on both sides of the road are rows of coffee trees. Further ahead is the famous Dakaihe Village, Nanping Town, Simao District. On both sides of the road are two-story buildings built with marble tiles. A pick-up truck or a farm tractor is often parked in the yard, and a third car is parked in some farmers' homes. According to the incomplete statistics of the village, 50 cars were added to the village last year.

This is an immigrant village, which was established in 1983. More than 10 years ago, as a poor village, most of the villagers in Dakaihe Village still lived in low thatched huts with a per capita annual income of less than 1,000 yuan.

Hua Honglin, secretary of the party branch of Dakaihe Village, said that it was coffee that made Dakaihe Village famous, and media from all over the world came to cover it, of course, more coffee merchants from Japan, South Korea, the United States, Switzerland, and other places. Last year, Hua Honglin received more than 50 groups of visitors, and he was able to endorse the coffee area of the village, the planting history and the benefits of farmers without hesitation, and even blurted out the purchase price of coffee beans on the New York futures market the day before.

The myth of wealth brought by coffee has enabled remote villagers to experience the sweetness of the global coffee trade. More than 90% of the agricultural land here is planted with coffee, and 5130 mu of coffee fields have been designated by Nestl é as the raw material base. like farmers in coffee-producing areas such as Ethiopia, Indonesia, Costa Rica and Brazil, villagers in Dakaihe Village have become full-time farmers They have become part of the coffee trading system of more than 10 trillion yuan a year.

Located on the Tropic of Cancer, Pu'er is one of the most ideal areas for growing coffee in the world because of its superior climate and excellent environment. Pu'er has a history of growing coffee for more than 100 years. Nowadays, the status of coffee in Pu'er is by no means inferior to that of Pu'er tea. Like the red wine of Bordeaux in France, Pu'er coffee has not only "lived" into the manor, but also entered a new stage of scientific and brand development. In particular, Pu'er coffee is recognized as "the best quality coffee" by international coffee organizations because of its high quality and mellow taste. It belongs to the same category as Colombian coffee and is favored by more and more consumers at home and abroad. Jeremy Wickford, Starbucks' chief coffee cup tasters with 45 years of coffee tasting experience, scored 81.5 on the coffee from Pu'er Manor, calling it gourmet coffee, comparable to Blue Mountain Coffee.
