Folk scientists always have wonderful ideas, and folk artists also like to go wild, such as the self-taught amateur artist to be introduced below.

Alexander Wald, a Ukrainian, works as a plumber at a circus in the city of Lviv. His hobby is to try to paint in different media to show his artistic talent, such as coffee grounds and sand.

Painting with coffee is not unheard of. Mona Lisa and Jay Chou have been painted with coffee in the old text of fried eggs, and even mosaic artist Saimir Stari has played with giant murals made of a million coffee beans, but Alexander should be the first to paint with ground coffee grounds. As a plumber, he spends most of his spare time creating unique works of art, using leftover coffee from his and his colleagues as painting material. For this self-taught artist, any brand and form of coffee can be used by him (except instant coffee, of course).

Alexander's artistic creation process is like this: first draw an outline on the canvas, and then add coffee grounds or fine sand as appropriate. It is obvious that the coffee grounds are used to deepen the tone, while the sand is light. It is not difficult to say, but the whole creative process is hard and long, and Alexander often takes several weeks to complete a work. And his works are rarely large in size, and they are basically small paintings. In addition, Alexander also introduces that the back of his canvas is glued to ensure that the coffee particles and sand can be fixed, and he will apply a layer of varnish (for protection) when the painting is finished.

The requirements of most Alexander clients are portraits and religious idols. Alexander charges are not high, about 100 Ukrainian hryvna (about 75 yuan) each. Although he could actually sell his works at a higher price, he gave away many of his paintings for free and used the money he earned to buy art supplies. Alexander says he has sold about 500 pieces, some of which are on display in foreign galleries.
