It was learned from the conference on the development and promotion of coffee industry in Lincang City, Yunnan Province that by the end of 2013, the coffee planting area in Lincang City had reached 554200 mu, making it the second largest coffee producing area in Yunnan.

In China, Yunnan is the only coffee producing area in the country, with a unique climate and changeable geographical environment, growing multi-level coffee, which can be regarded as unique in the coffee producing areas of the world. In Yunnan, in addition to the well-known Baoshan, Dehong and Pu'er, Lincang has gradually grown into a rising star in the coffee industry, which is also due to the fact that Lincang has a lot of hot land resources.

"the altitude and latitude of Lincang are basically similar to those of Colombia, a big coffee country in the world, so it is more suitable for growing coffee in terms of climatic conditions. Of the other 24000 square kilometers, 1/3 are below 1300 meters above sea level, and these areas are more suitable for growing coffee, so there is great space and potential for Lincang to develop the coffee industry. " Wang Kuirong, director of the Agricultural Bureau of Lincang City, said. On the basis of 69600 mu planted in 2011, Lincang City mobilized Daxing coffee plant. by the end of 2013, the planting area of coffee in the city has reached 554200 mu.

According to reports, the cultivation of Lincang coffee can be traced back to the Ninth five-year Plan period. Yunnan Province implemented the "18 Biological Resources Development Project", planted 2330 mu of coffee in 1996, and set off an upsurge of large kinds of coffee again in 1998. After 2002, under the influence of the international market, the coffee industry declined. By 2006, the area of coffee under normal and effective management in Lincang is only 4600 mu, and the output of dried coffee beans is only about 300 tons.

At present, the mode of government-led, enterprise-supported and farmers' participation in Lincang has led to the rapid development of the coffee industry, and introduced agricultural leading enterprises Lincang Lingfeng Coffee Industry Development Co., Ltd. and Lincang Hougu Coffee Co., Ltd., through the company + base + coffee planting professional cooperatives + farmers to promote the development of the coffee industry. With the support of the government and the guarantee of funds, most farmers have adjusted the planting structure. It has opened up a new way for local farmers to shake off poverty and become rich.

"Coffee can be grown on the land in Lincang, so we don't have to go out to work any more. We have our own business." Li Zhonghe, a villager in Matai Township, who has been working for years, has also grown coffee.

At the conference on promoting the development of coffee industry in Lincang City, Xiong Wanpeng, vice mayor of Lincang City, said that as a green industry and ecological industry, coffee industry is an ideal choice for Lincang ecological construction and industrial development to go hand in hand, and it is a promising sunrise industry. It can best reflect the "industrialization of ecological construction and ecological development of industry".
