In Yunnan, in addition to the well-known Baoshan, Dehong and Pu'er, Lincang has gradually grown into a rising star in the coffee industry, which is also due to the fact that Lincang has a lot of hot land resources.

On the basis of 69600 mu planted in 2011, Lincang City mobilized Daxing coffee plant. by the end of 2013, the planting area of coffee in the city has reached 554200 mu.

According to reports, the cultivation of Lincang coffee can be traced back to the Ninth five-year Plan period. Yunnan Province implemented the "18 Biological Resources Development Project", planted 2330 mu of coffee in 1996, and set off an upsurge of large kinds of coffee again in 1998. After 2002, under the influence of the international market, the coffee industry declined. By 2006, the area of coffee under normal and effective management in Lincang is only 4600 mu, and the output of dried coffee beans is only about 300 tons.

At present, the mode of government-led, enterprise-supported and farmers' participation in Lincang has led to the rapid development of the coffee industry, and introduced agricultural leading enterprises Lincang Lingfeng Coffee Industry Development Co., Ltd. and Lincang Hougu Coffee Co., Ltd., through the company + base + coffee planting professional cooperatives + farmers to promote the development of the coffee industry. "Coffee can be grown on the land in Lincang, so we don't have to go out to work any more. We have our own business." Li Zhonghe, a villager in Matai Township, who has been working for years, has also grown coffee.
