Last Updated: 2024/09/17, Researchers at Erasmus University Medical Center in the Netherlands surveyed 18000 people that coffee drinking may have something to do with genes.

Dutch scientists have shown that the human liver produces several different proteins that break down caffeine. The amount of these proteins in the body is closely related to the body's tolerance to caffeine.

Further research found that the genes responsible for making these proteins include "CYPIA1" and "NRCAM". If these two genes are active in the body, people will like to drink coffee and are less likely to feel bad after consuming a lot of caffeine.
