The 74 member countries of the International Coffee Organization and 27 coffee associations around the world have signed an agreement to designate October 1, 2015 as the first International Coffee Day.

The International Coffee Organization (ICO-International Coffee Organization) was founded in 1963 with the mission of supporting coffee farmers worldwide and promoting the health of the global coffee industry. A number of ICO member states have previously observed coffee days in their own countries, most of which fall in September each year. As a result of ICO efforts, member states agreed to designate October 1 of each year as International Coffee Day.

October 1, 2015 International Coffee Council ICC - International Coffee Council (ICC) 115th Session of the International Coffee Council (ICC)(Global Coffee Forum - GCF) Day (held during the Milan Expo 2015), for us Chinese coffee people, October 1 is also the National Day, so October 1, 2015 must be a unique and lively festival, even though China is not currently a member of the International Coffee Organization.
